Want some Baldur’s Gate 3 drip? Larian calls for clothing designers for work on official apparel

If you've been playing Baldur's Gate 3 and are desperate to represent your love for Larian's brand of CRPG then you may be in luck. Larian's director of publishing Michael Douse has called for clothing designers to reach out to the company for mysterious work at the company.

Douse wrote the following call-to-action: "If you’re someone who designs for t-shirts, sweaters, etc, and you know Baldur’s Gate 3, then get in touch with us at [email protected] - we’re working on something." A short but tantalizing statement. This obviously indicates that Larian is working on some clothing behind the scenes, but the exact scope of its designs remain unclear. Here's to hoping for a crop top.

It's worth noting that Larian already has a collection of t-shirts available for sale on its official website. The company has largely avoided the typical affair of video game logos slapped on a black or white shirt. Instead, various tongue-in- cheek offerings are available for the RPG aficionado. However, keeping the call-to-action in mind, hopefully they're working on updating the Larian line with some Baldur's Gate 3 inspired fits.

One Baldur's Gate 3 sound designer literally learned blacksmithing for the game's metal sounds

It turns out that Baldur's Gate 3's metal clanking sounds are so good because one sound designer literally learned blacksmithing for the game.

Some people go the extra mile when it comes to making their work shine, and it sounds like (pardon the pun) Baldur's Gate 3 sound designer Glen G. Goa is one such person. As spotted by GamesRadar, Goa shared a video showing off them wearing some metal armour attached to their boots, providing an example of the work they did on the game. The description of the video notes that in the recently released RPG, "when you wear shoes with metal on them, we wanted them to have a unique sound layer of metal clanks." I made some sabatons in the forge (I learned blacksmithing) and recorded an hour session of walking on various surfaces with them loosely on."

It's a pretty strong move to just casually drop that you learned blacksmithing, as it isn't the most common of hobbies to take up, especially one that is for the purpose of sound design. But, the proof is in the pudding, as they say, because we all know how great Baldur's Gate 3 looks, plays, and of course, sounds.

Watch Baldur's Gate 3's narrator explore her darkest urges

Baldur's Gate 3 gets a lot of things right, but perhaps its greatest asset is narrator Amelia Tyler, who serves as your guide and a sort of pseudo dungeon master, explaining your every thought, emotion, and action as you trudge through Faerûn. But now Tyler is bringing a more sinister energy to the Larian Studios RPG, by streaming her very own Dark Urge run alongside her partner and fellow voice actor Jay Britton, who previously provided voices for Larian's Divinity Original Sin 2.
