Baldur's Gate 3 patch fixes "Exorcist" moments and infinite spell loops, also surprise dick shots

The latest Baldur's Gate 3 patch is out, and all anybody will talk about are the buggy invisible gnome underpants and the penises clipping through clothing. Larian themselves highlighted it in their patch notes, and the socials have predictably gone wild with talk of girthy githyankis. Well, some of us like to think of ourselves as serious journalists, thank you very much, so I'd like to call your attention to the, dare I say, more grown-up elements of the patch, which range from fine-tuning the tooltips to making dragons appear in the right place.

Tear your eyes from those lurid details of absentee knickers and glitchy sausages, and you'll see that Larian has fixed no less than 13 crash bugs and progress blockers, though sadly not the crash bug I always seem to get when I run the game in DirectX 11. They've also sorted out an issue with enemies entering combat when they're on a different floor, together with the occasional odd prolonged silence in over 200 dialogues, and a smattering of minor issues with cameras and clipping. See, this is the stuff video game news is rightly made of. None of your adolescent leering, thanks.

With this Baldur's Gate 3 mod you can have the 16-person party you always wanted

Are four party members just not cutting it for you in Baldur's Gate 3? If so, a recent mod may just be the thing you need to mix up Larian's RPG. Why take four adventurers when you can bring 16?

Created by Sildur and uploaded to Nexus Mods, this mod removes the hard party limit (discovered by a user called amlw in the official Baldur's Gate 3 Discord server) which allows you to take up to 16 party members with you out into the world. In addition, it allows you to host multiplayer games with up to eight players, which is perfect for those larger friend groups feeling a touch left out

This, as you've probably already assumed, is only available for PC players and comes with some technical caveats. Multiplayer sessions with up to eight players requires you to start a new save, some parts of the game may bug out as scenes are "hard coded" for four party members according to Sildur, and the Baldur's Gate 3 launcher may flash some data mismatch warnings at you. However, all of these are bypassable with some small adjustments on your part, making this a largely problem-free mod to use.

Baldur's Gate 3 may be the highest rated game of the year

Baldur's Gate 3 is without a doubt one of this year's most beloved RPG games. Larian Studios put years of work into getting the game out of early access, and it has been smashing records left and right since launching. It doesn't come as any surprise then that Baldur's Gate 3 has already climbed the Metacritic rating rankings to the top. The Dungeons & Dragons-inspired game is currently tied with just one other game for 2023's highest-rated spot.
