The latest round of absurd Baldur's Gate 3 mods include a better Bing Bong and mankinis for the boys

Whatever the Baldur's Gate 3 modders have been drinking, I'd like a double. They've given us mods that make your entire party scrabble around on all fours, add an entire roguelike mode, and commit a war crime against Astarion's hair follicles. And they haven't slowed down yet...

Baldur's Gate 3 dev says it's Larian's philosophy to 'fuel and reward' player creativity: 'They found a way to exploit the game, let them have it, it's awesome'

UPDATE: Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 7's closed beta has been pushed back due to passive dice rolls going kaput during a bit of "bug-fix whack-a-mole"

UPDATE (25/07/24, 4:10 PM BST): Larian has confirmed that Baldur's Gate 3's Patch 7 Closed Beta is now live on Steam.

"If you were lucky enough to be randomly selected, check your Steam Library, and you should now be able to download the playtest," it writes, "Not everyone will have access, so we’d appreciate it if you could keep any spoilers to a minimum. Unfortunately, Larian's had to delay it a bit, after the game's dice decided to stop working as intended while the developers were trying to resolve some other issues.

Baldur's Gate 3 closed beta delayed but next patch is going to be big

One thing that's really set Baldur's Gate 3 apart - other than it being an utterly stupendous RPG - is how developer Larian Studios has communicated with its audience. During its early access period right up to today, the developer has been as clear and open about what it's doing and what's happening with the game as possible. With the next big patch on the horizon for the game, that's still proving true even while the open beta for the update has had to be delayed.
