Want a physical copy of Baldur's Gate 3? You'll need the upcoming Japanese version

For those of you out there looking to ensure your love for Astarion, Gale, and all things Baldur's Gate 3 survives forever, a physical version of the game is coming out later this year. This is thanks to Spike Chunsoft, who is bringing the hugely popular CRPG to Japan in the near future.

Announced only this morning and reported by Gamespark, the gigantic Japanese publisher announced its plans to bring the game to Japan. This'll come in the form of a digital version and physical version, but for the PS5 only.

There's no word yet on when exactly this will be releasing this year, nor whether this physical version will be your bog standard box copy, a fancy metal case, or maybe even something more luxurious. With that said, the Spike Chunsoft Twitter account stated that a future post from the company will provide additional details.

It didn’t take long for the modding community to get to work on Baldur's Gate 3
, and the latest pair of useful mods - spotted by the folk over at PCGamer - will allow you to go on your adventure in third-person mode.

Arguably, much of Baldur’s Gate 3 is best played from the birds-eye view that it gives you. Commanding your party in battle or generally roaming around the map feels a lot more convenient this way.

Alas, when it comes to storybuilding and interacting with folk across this luscious world, exploring in third-person looks to add a level of immersion to each encounter as you go about your grand adventure.

Baldur's Gate 3 is the best RPG game of 2023 right now, and it's also my personal favorite overall. It's hard to pinpoint what makes it so good, but it probably has a lot to do with its immersive quests, Dungeons & Dragons-like gameplay, and relationship system. I love being able to get close to my favorite companion, especially with such well-written dialogue. Other players prefer a less romantic approach, though, and more of an X-rated one. If that's you, then you may just be cut out for the new Baldur's Gate 3 speedrun category.

My Baldur's Gate 3 fighter fought through nearly all of Acts 1 and 2 wearing the same pair of gloves. Baldur's Gate 3 hotfix rolled back due to surprise bug, some saves may be temporarily unavailable
