[p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]With the Brood Watcher fully implemented into the game, we now turn to working on the last remaining content patch of the 1.2 update. As you may have noticed, we are beginning to work on our larger updates in smaller patch increments. We were able to push out many new quality of life, content, and bugs fixes in these smaller patches and we feel it better suits our development style, pace, and the player's experience. We are now turning our focus to the last and final patch of Update 1.2, which includes the Ironhide Grazer, Stat Pearls, and an AI overhaul. Once released, we will then finish work on Update 1.3. [/p]
Ironhide Grazer
[p][/p][p][/p][p]The Ironhide Grazer will be a new dangerous AI creature added to the game. They are herding animals and will appear as adult or juveniles. They are the largest AI yet to enter the game, but also the most deadly. While they would make a great feast for any clan, the entire herd is extremely protective of their young and can easily kill an inexperience dragon. With them will be the introduction of herd AI behavior and they will drop new types of valuable pearls that will benefit your dragon in nesting and skin crafting. [/p][p] [/p]
Stat Pearls
[p]A new type of pearl coming to the game are Stat Pearls. These pearls can raise specific stats of your dragon from just 0.1% to as much as 15%. They will come in three different varieties; Lesser (0.1-5%), Greater (5-10%), and Ancient (10-15%). Ancient pearls may increase two of your dragons stats to a combined total of 15% (5%+10%) or a single stat to 15%. Each variety will have an assigned quality depending on how much it raises your stats (common, uncommon, rare, mythical, and legendary). [/p][p]These pearls will be tradeable and are not bound to the account. Any equipped pearls will remain with the player through death, but any unequipped pearls in their inventory will be dropped upon their death and lootable by nearby dragons. Each dragon species will have a designated "crop weight" which will indicate their inventory capacity and pearls will weigh different amounts depending on their variety.[/p][p] [/p]
AI Overhaul
[p][/p][p]All of our AI creatures are going to be getting some TLC in the next update. We will be standardizing all of the AI to allow for faster AI implementation in the future and smarter overall AI creatures. The Swamp Snapper will be getting a quality of life update with its behavior tweaked and bugs fixed. As stated above, we will be adding herding behavior as well as adult and juvenile AI behavior. [/p][p]Many of you have asked if the Thornback Crawlers will be making a return to the Forgotten Forest. At this time, the answer is no. We found players had a hard time finding the Thornbacks in the grassy landscape of the forests and will be saving them for future biomes such as the Lava Lands.[/p]
New Skins
[p][/p][p]And last but not least, we will be adding more skins to the game with the final implementation of the 1.2 update. The Acid Spitter will be getting the equine inspired "Purple Roan" skin with the Inferno Ravager getting the Sulfire and Hellfire skins. These skins, like all the rest, will be customizable once Skin Crafting is added in the 1.3 update.
[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Looking Forward
[p]This update will likely take us some time to complete and we will keep you updated on its progress as we go. After the 1.2 update is finished and any hotfixes needed are completed, we will turn our attention to the 1.3 update. [/p][p]The 1.3 update will introduce the much anticipated new Skin Crafting feature. Players will be able to use color swatches inherited by their parents to customize their skins and patterns. The update will also include an update to the Forgotten Forest map, Tales of Dragons in-game lorebook which will help new players learn about the dragon species and their abilities, and the implementation of Fantasy Servers with 300+ player capacity. We are very excited for this update and can't wait to finish it![/p][p]Following 1.3, we will then release 1.4 which will include the Singe Crest Wyvern. [/p][p]1.3 and 1.4 are both estimated for a 2026 release as we continue to improve upon and speed up our production pipeline.[/p][p][/p][p] [/p]
From the Community
[p]
