Northern Lights Patch - 0.1.5 NOW LIVE!

Hello and Happy New Year everybody!

We are happy to announce that Northern Lights version 0.1.5 is now LIVE on STEAM and comes with a lot of improvements and fixes to both performance and mechanics!

  • Fire starting now consumes/decays starting items even if failing to start a fire

  • Balancing of cooking pot and frying pan weights
  • Balancing of marker decay ratio
  • Balancing of firewood burn rate
  • Balancing of cabin fever mechanics to make more sense
  • Balancing of wetness values for drying rack and ground drying to make more sense in relation to time

  • Fixed an issue causing HUD stat chevrons to display incorrect trends
  • Fixed an issue causing journal to not display correctly in other languages
  • Fixed an issue causing a cave to not load in game
  • Fixed an issue causing game to stutter when looting or triggering afflictions
  • Fixed an issue causing passive stats to not recover correctly

Hello everyone!

With the Winter Holidays around the corner and 2020 coming to an end, we want to wish you a Merry Christmas, and all the best for 2021!

We really appreciate all the support we've received from you throughout this year and we are looking forward with hope and excitement to what 2021 will bring.

Our team will be off between the 24th of December and the 2nd of January, resting and enjoying time with our loved ones. Yet, if any game-breaking bugs appear in our game, we want to assure you that we will be around to fix them :)

  • Improved animal fat harvesting and usage mechanics
  • Improved hitboxes for picking up items (rocks, sticks etc.)
  • Arrows can now be taken back
  • Spruce bark is now stacking in inventory

  • Cold affliction now won't trigger randomly when outside
  • Treatment panel buttons now pulse when the items are available for consumption

  • Increased max meat weights in cooking system from 1kg to 3kg
  • Inventory items are now sorted newest to oldest (per category)

Northern Lights Patch - 0.1.2 NOW LIVE!

[h3]Northern Lights Patch 2 is now live on STEAM! [/h3]

This patch is focusing on improving the overall performance, stability and playability of the game!
With this being said, there is still a lot of room for improvement in this regard, and we will continue to gradually improve performance and load times in future updates.

Along with these improvements, we also fixed some other issues that were reported:

  • Empty loot storages no longer pause the player until the dialogue is over
  • Objects that can be salvaged without a tool will no longer display the timelapse screen (planks, bushes etc.)
  • Sun glare no longer shows through mountains

  • Balancing of loot spawned on the grounds in starting region
  • Balancing of hydration restore from drinking water

  • Fixed an issue causing snowfall and blizzard effects to render inside caves and buildings when leaving a game session and loading another
  • Fixed an issue causing severe hypothermia to not cure
  • Fixed an issue causing arrow shaft to not be craftable with all types of knives
  • Fixed an issue causing HUD messages to display on top of other menus
  • Fixed an issue causing torch and candles to not find matches as starting items
  • Fixed an issue causing salvaging to not display new item notifications
  • Fixed an issue causing place button to not work
