Patch #1 and controller support, 4K and very high settings (Experimental Mode)
Hey everyone,
It's been a crazy 2 weeks post Early Access Launch! We've been working on the first patch for TimeMelters, which we hope will fix all the bugs people have posted on Discord and the Steam forums, along with some balancing changes and a few experimental features. These features include partial controller support, 4k resolution and 3 "very high" settings (vegetation, sky, shadows) for the people that feel like their rig can handle it!
To launch the game in experimental mode and help us test out these features, do the following steps :
1 - Right-Click on the name of the game in your Steam Librairy
2 - Click Properties
3 - In the General Tab, at the bottom, you'll see a field under "launch option". Simply type "+experimental" in that field.
Then, when you'll launch the game, you'll be able to see the controller support (with the standard button mapping) in the "controls" menu. If you prefer a different button mapping, you can create your own using the Steam controller interface or download a controller profile from the community.
You'll also be able to play the game in 4K and try out the "very high" settings. Please keep in mind that we are still working heavily on these features and, depending on your feedback and bug reports, we'll see if they can make it to version 1.0 .
So, here's a list of what you find in Patch 1.0 that is out today.
- Added a 3rd challenge in Callaburgh called "The Perfect Perk" and a new Steam Achievement
- Fixed a teleport issue some players reported when using the Void Spirit spell
- Experimental mode (add "+experimental" in the launch option to unlock it) adding controller support and allowing to run the game in 4K with very high settings
- Fixed some shader issues where the water plane was not showing properly
- Fixed a lot of collisions where players pass through objects
- And of course, a LOT of optimizations, fine tunings, typos and balancing based on your feedback and comments
It's been a pleasure reading what everyone has to say, you have no idea! If you've given TimeMelters a shot, please leave us a comment, it really helps us make a better game!
Thank you all again, we wouldn't have made it without you!
Happy gaming!
