Weekly Update - May 27th 2021
Hello, fellow racers!
These updates make us feel like weeks fly by! It reminds us of our childhood and youth years, in which going to school was what happened while we waited to get back to the race track on the weekend. When we were competing in karting, our mom and dad would pick us up early on Friday, with the car and our little trailer all packed up with the karts, wheels and tools all ready to go. Setting up our pit would be almost a ritual of Friday night / Saturday morning, as well as walking along the track. All of these memories are what inspired us to create the weekly rotation of events, since that is the experience we are aiming to recreate.
So, where are you headed this weekend? Here are your options!
Development Update
We are still in the process of improving the online gameplay feel after our last patch (v.0.2.0). We wanted to share a short reflection on where we are at.
The online aspects of our game are among the most difficult challenges of game development, more so for a fast and competitive game. We are very close to achieving something unbelievably ambitious, because we know it will be unbelievably fun and that's why we are making this game. At times, our efforts will not achieve what we intended, nothing good is ever easy. Failing is an invitation to learn, change direction, grow, it's not an end from which we need to backout of, its something we need to go through, avoiding it won't get us where we are going. We like this quote form Sarah Lewis: "failing is learning to stand where we would rather not and expand in ways we never knew we could.” We certainly learned a lot in the last update, and we will work hard to integrate what we learned so we don't repeat mistakes.
We don't take this community and your engagement for granted, we want to get to our dream version of this game as fast as we can, and the only thing we can reassure you of is that this means as much to us as it does to you. Hang on!
