To Commander: On the 3rd Anniversary, We Hope to Start Anew
[p]Hello everyone,[/p][p][/p][p]It's hard to believe, The Book of Yog has been around for three years. [/p][p][/p][p]Thankfully, we didn't end up vanishing like some players thought we would. We've managed to keep going—slowly, with lots of bumps along the way. We'll keep doing our best to update the game and support all of you who are still playing.[/p][p][/p][p]It's been a long time since I wrote a dev log. After running this game for three years, I've realized something a bit painful—I have to admit, the game just isn't as fun as it used to be...[/p][p][/p][p]As one of the game's producers, I was slow to realize the problem. I felt really defeated — like waking up from a long dream. Looking back, the income was flat, my skills didn't shine, and the only thing going up was my hairline — thanks, age.[/p][p][/p][p]I'm sorry that the past two years didn't give you a better experience. But life goes on. We'll keep working hard to improve the game. We still believe The Book of Yog can offer a good idle RPG experience. We're working hard to make idle games better, with real heart — not just another so-called 'Anime Legend'.[/p][p][/p][p]Here's what we're planning next to make the game better:[/p][p][/p][p]1. Making leveling up easier after level 400[/p][p]After level 400, progress slows down a lot—it's frustrating and makes it hard to enjoy new content. So we're lowering level requirements for stages、adding more main story stages、increasing EXP and crystal rewards 、making leveling faster overall and adding better first-clear rewards for new stages[/p][p][/p][p]2. Improving game balance and progression[/p][p]·We'll reduce the gap between SP heroes and make different builds, reduce the focus on just pure stat builds.[/p][p]·We'll adjust attribute systems to make growth more logical and fair.[/p][p]·We'll continue improving Front, Contract, and Equipment systems to make them feel better and more balanced[/p][p][/p][p]3. We will continue to update and optimize collection-based gameplay, guided by the principle of never forcing monetization — every player can achieve full collection at a comfortable pace. [/p][p]Current development plans include:[/p][p]·More equipment and Blackguards: Current character and team build designs are somewhat rigid. In the future, we aim to expand build diversity and focus on pure gameplay content related to collecting core equipment and team building.[/p][p]·Pet system: Players will be able to explore the continent to find and capture pets scattered across the land. Pets can be trained, evolved, and taught new skills. There might even be a "World's Greatest Pet Tournament"?[/p][p]·Enriched Index system: Improved sense of progression in collection, more emotionally rewarding presentation, and richer collection rewards.[/p][p]·Blackguard "Pal": Assign your Blackguards to work for you — chopping trees, mining, managing and developing your main city. Be sure to respect labor laws and schedule rest time reasonably.[/p][p]·Fishing: Explore the world and cast your line in various locations.[/p][p]·Collect rare and valuable catches? Enjoy unique drying-off animations from different characters? Which one are you more interested in?[/p][p][/p][p]4. About Season Edition[/p][p]As we continue to prioritize gameplay depth and replayability, the game will inevitably undergo changes and adjustments.[/p][p]Change is often a double-edged sword — especially when it comes to balance adjustments.[/p][p]Without changes, the gameplay may inevitably grow stale; with changes, some players may feel their interests are affected.[/p][p]To address this, we plan to introduce a Seasonal Mode.[/p][p]Balance adjustments will be rolled out on a per-season basis, with each season lasting about 3–4 months.[/p][p]Details of the upcoming adjustments will be shared 1–2 months before a new season begins.[/p][p](Adjustments may include system overhauls, design changes, balance tweaks, and skill mechanic updates.)[/p][p][/p][p]This is only a tentative plan — we warmly welcome everyone to share their thoughts in the comments![/p][p][/p][p]We sincerely thank every player who has experienced The Book of Yog.
