The Last Spell News

Hello survivors!

We hope you're okay! We know we've kept you in the dark for a while this year, and we're very sorry about that. Our goal is to be transparent about the future of the development of the future DLCs of the game and beyond.

As it's soon Christmas, we wanted to do a little something before the celebrations officially start. Please note that this is NOT the "little surprise" we teased you with earlier this week.

Since we know you're waiting for DLC 2 of The Last Spell, we wanted to give you a little something.

We're working hard on it, and it's still coming next spring, along with the "Apocalypse 2.0".

So there you go, now you know that Elves will be the new race coming to The Last Spell next spring! Any theories about them?

Hello Heroes!

A small hotfix today, fixing the black screen issue that some of you encountered after the "save slot" update.

• Fixed an issue where a black screen would appear after selecting "Main Menu" during a run to save your progress.
  
• Added a security to the loading process when loading the current slot selected
  

Also, if your current save seems corrupted, please follow this process :

1.Navigate to the following directory:
%Appdata%/../LocalLow/Ishtar Games/The Last Spell/Save/Steam/your_steam_id/

2.If the save you are trying to fix was on Save Slot 1, follow these steps:
• Locate the save file in the Profile1\Broken folder.
• Rename the save files to:
o AppSave.bin
o GameSave.bin
• Move the renamed files into the main Profile1 folder.

3.Relaunch the game and verify the fix.
Don't forget to update your game!

As promised last month, save slots are finally HERE in The Last Spell.

This feature was actually requested by players since the very first day of early-access! And a few other times since the release...



No more need to delete your saves if you want to play a new playthrough!




And we miiiiight have a little surprise for our fans for this year's christmas, so stay tuned...!

It's been a while since we gave you big news about The Last Spell, and we're very excited to finally give you some updates about the future of the game!

[h2]What's next for The Last Spell?[/h2]

Our main goal since the beginning of early access has always stayed the same: how can we improve the game even more as we listen to the community and bring new content that we want to make for the game?

This is why, for the past few months, we've been working tiredlessly on the game, tweaking and searching which ideas would be the most exciting for players, new and veterans!

Aaaand we're VERY happy to finally be able to present you the 2025 Roadmap for The Last Spell!!

With this roadmap, you can be sure that there's still quite a lot more to come for The Last Spell in the coming months ;)

I'm sure you have about a million questions about this new roadmap, but don't worry, all questions will be revealed when the time comes.

Now, a few notes about it to give you juuust a bit more info:

• We want each DLC to bring a free update that will make it exciting for all players to return to the game.
  
  
• Oh, and that Apocalypse 2.0 thing? Yeah, we're doing it. Trust me, it's going to be THAT good.
  
  
• As for the modding, we know some of you played with quite a lot of them on Nexus Mods ;) But we still want to bring more "official" mod support. We'll have more to reveal about mods later.
  
  
• Without telling you too much about it, the "Late 2025 DLC" will be VERY different from Dwarves of Runenberg and the next DLC.
  
  

[h2]Save Slots: November 2024!![/h2]

And since a surprise never comes alone, we have an upcoming update for next month: the save slots!!

This feature was requested quite a lot, and next month, you'll be able to have several save slots at the same time in the game. You won't need to delete your entire progress as much now!!
