Patch 4.8.9 is out!

[/p][p]After the last patch, some players experienced low FPS and stuttering in various parts of the game.
We have identified the source of the problem and fixed it in this patch.

This patch mainly affects:[/p]
  • [p]Returning to the main menu from Chapter 1 no longer causes low FPS[/p]
  • [p]Switching languages no longer causes the game to freeze for a few seconds[/p]
  • [p]New game loading times reduced by almost 50%[/p]
  • [p]Overall smoother and more stable gameplay

  • [p]Pierro no longer appears in places where he shouldn’t.[/p]
  • [p]Direct navigation with the Firesquito: he no longer gets stuck at the potion room exit or moves off-screen.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed screen tearing that occurred when the camera was moving.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the save meta window keep showing after loading a save file.[/p]
  • [p]The ā€˜J’ shortcut now correctly toggles the inventory in and out.[/p]
  • [p]Pixa text no longer overlaps.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed controller navigation in the Difficulty Level menu.[/p]

  • [p]Improved visibility for all UI icons, including the HUD, hotspot interactions, and inventory items.[/p][p]Their contrast has been enhanced, and their resolution doubled—so they now appear sharper and less pixelated, especially on larger screens.[/p]

Controller support and next goals

Dear players!

We are glad to announce that the game now supports different types of controllers—you can connect PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch controllers to your PC and enjoy playing the available chapters with them. We have put in the effort to ensure direct navigation for EVERYTHING, including:

  • Moving Jase directly with the joystick.
  • Navigating menus, inventory items, spells, and hotspots using the D-Pad or joystick.
  • Each minigame has its own custom implementation for a better experience.
  • For those who enjoy moving the cursor and getting the classic Point-and-Click feel—no worries! You can also use the joystick to move the cursor. Your choice!

And of course, we have mapped all the keyboard shortcuts, such as the journal, shapeshift, quick save, and game pause, to gamepad buttons. We even included a new feature to skip cutscenes. :)

The controller support is a crucial milestone for us and will be used on consoles later.

The game will recognize which controller is connected and will display a dedicated mapping scheme that can be accessed at any time during gameplay. Here’s the control scheme for Xbox:



Why are we focusing on other platforms instead of developing Chapter 2?

In our last update, we mentioned that the game is available on mobile devices, and now we are targeting consoles. As an indie studio working part-time with a tight budget, Chapter 2 is taking more time than we would like. We don't want to compromise by shipping a low-quality product just to say we completed it.
We want to continue the game with the same quality of humor, graphics, puzzles, and everything we've put our effort into so far. To speed up the process, we MUST reach a larger audience, which will eventually help increase our budget. Ultimately, this will assist us in finishing Chapter 2—a milestone we are eager to achieve—as well as the rest of the chapters.

As you can see, we are still working on the game, and we will ship more chapters one way or another. This game will be completed as promised. I hope you understand our position. If not, I can only focus on making the game with passion ā™„ļøšŸ§™ā€ā™‚ļø
