Frogwares have released the first gameplay trailer for Sherlock Holmes The Awakened, and it's a bit creepy.

The Sherlock meets Cthulhu horror adventure sees a young Sherlock and John Watson undertake a chilling case that will forever "bond and scar the duo."

What seems like a straightforward case of a missing person quickly spirals into a web of conspiracies by a cult that worships Cthulhu and are attempting to bring about an ancient prophecy.

It’s been a minute since we last saw anything from Frogwares’ kitbashed remake of their 2007 mystery horror game Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened. Now though, a new trailer gives a proper glimpse of what Holmes and Watson will be getting up to when they take on H.P. Lovecraft’s Cthulhu Mythos, once again for the very first time. Have a watch below, and try not to get lost in an ethereal netherworld inhabited by malevolent, sleeping gods.

My first encounter with Frogwares' Sherlock Holmes games was the Consolevania drubbing of Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened, but the series has come a long way since. Alice loved last year's Sherlock Holmes: Chapter One, which stars a young, hot Holmes.

As CJ reported last week, Frogwares now intend to close the circle by pitting hot Holmes against (hot?) Cthulhu creatures in a remake of 2007's The Awakened. Its Kickstarter project launched today and there's a reveal trailer below.

We are happy to announce that a new Sherlock Holmes Chapter One DLC - Mycroft’s Pride is now available for you to play!



The new DLC contains all new set of cases sent by your big brother himself. The Empire needs you young Sherlock. Our homeland’s security is at stake! This new questline will be available after you receive a letter from Mycroft at Sherlock's Manor. The second main quest (A Gilded Cage), and a side quest (Love, Death, and Cordona) must be completed first.

The DLC also comes with a new side quest “In for a Penny”. Many years ago, Mycroft stole your coin collection and hid them around the island for a treasure hunt. It's time to reclaim what's yours. The side quest is activated after picking up a specific item at Sherlock's manor.



Mycroft’s Pride also comes with a new outfit for both Sherlock and Jon (no one said you can’t look good while saving the Empire, did they?).

You can buy the Mycroft’s Pride DLC separately or as part of the Sherlock Holmes Chapter One Season Pass.
