Buttplug Update in Public Beta

Hey everybody!

We’ve just released an update to the public beta we believe will eliminate a lot (if not all) of the connection headache that some of you have been experiencing. If you’ve been having trouble connecting your toy to ViRo Playspace, please do give it a try and let us know how it works for you.
A little history
In the early days of ViRo Playspace, qdot was kind enough to help us develop a specialized version of Buttplug built directly into ViRo. (We called it, predictably, the Buttplugin.) We wanted to make the experience as seamless as possible for our users, and as such, didn’t want anyone to have to download something separate if we could help it.
The times are a-changin’
It was a great solution back then, but as is often the case, environments change, and solutions must adapt. We started getting complaints about toys having difficulty connecting - Kiiroo users in particular seemed to bear the brunt of these frustrations. We assumed it was the same connectivity issues that we’d dealt with in the studio from time to time, and offered the solutions that usually fixed things for us. And it worked for some of you. But for others, the problem persisted.
Aha!
When you told us your toys were having no problems connecting to Intiface Central? That was our lightbulb moment. We did some digging, and it became clear. Now that Intiface Central has grown into the expected standard for haptic toy connection - meaning most Buttplug users have it installed already - our built-in Buttplug was now creating rather than eliminating confusion.

A Buttplug traffic jam, if you will.

So, if you've been one of the ones having difficulty connecting your toys, thank you for your patience and feedback as we've worked through this issue, and let us know how the update works for you. And even if your toy has been connecting just fine, we'd still love your feedback!
