To Hell and Back (Demo Update)

Hey everyone,

Sharing our updates since the "OCT 2019 PUBLIC DEMO" that you may have tested out.
We've made plenty of changes from a game overhaul to adding an intro level that is a bit more player-friendly to help those to learn new game mechanics and controls. We've begun creating our inventory system, along with designing a variety of new weapons to choose from. Must we not forget about more bosses and environments. Plenty more listed below in the detailed notes.

Gameplay Overhaul. Game is now smoother to play with many tweaked and enhanced mechanics.

  • Intro level updated to be more friendly to players.
  • WIP inventory system.
  • Separate weapons: Pistol, shotgun, railgun.
  • MORE BOSSES ADDED.

  • Optimized areas with lots of projectiles
  • Optimized larger or more crowded areas
  • Optimized all collision detection
  • It is now easier to perform combos at higher frame rates
  • The game no longer plays in "slow mo" at lower frame rates
  • Improved graphics in cave
  • Updated interface graphics
  • Updated enemy spawns
  • Updated Abdiel fight
  • Fixed issues where it was possible to get stuck inside the environment
  • Fixed issue where the tank angel could jump out of bounds
  • Lucifer is now more responsive to input
  • Lucifer will no longer be willing to wander away after an uppercut
  • Collision while jumping improved Ledge climbing has been sped up
  • Enemies no longer get stuck in place
  • Lucifer will now try to navigate around objects that block his path
  • Control input updates
  • Guns outside of demon mode can no longer be charged up
  • Guns outside of demon mode now have a rechamber time that cannot be skipped by shooting really fast
  • Re-balanced combos, attack damage, and stamina consumption
  • Re-balanced enemy attacks, health, damage, and range
  • Other minor tweaks to how Lucifer feels and plays
  • Improved enemy AI
  • Debris from destroying the environment now stays in the world
  • Debris from destroying the environment may fall off platforms in certain locations
  • The list goes on… can’t fit them all here.

What the Hell is Fallen Angel?

Fallen Angel is you in a biblical symphony of pixel art and demon-fuelled action. Fallen Angel blends souls-like elements with a 2D pixel action RPG. It is time Fallen One, vengeance is at hand! Set in a world inspired by the Old Testament, biblical apocrypha and more than a little modern style, the many realms of Heaven are a strange and varied place.

Lucifer won’t just be slicing his way through pearly gates and angelic choirs, but strange high-tech constructs, idyllic earth-like plains, cyberpunk nightclubs, floating islands and more. Each Archangel will have a strong, thematic influence on the environments and creatures the player will encounter.

A Live-Stream date is set

Today, we wanted to share a quick update on Fallen Angel. As you may or may not know, the Steam Games Festival is just a couple weeks away (After the rescheduling). We will be LIVE at 5:00 PM EST here on the 17th of June, for the Steam Festival to share with you some insights into our game’s features and gameplay, as well as showcase some fantastic gameplay.

The Steam festival runs from June 16th through the 22nd, and during this time you’ll also be able to take Fallen Angel for an intense test-ride. We’ll have a free demo a variety of gameplay so you can play for yourself and see what all the hype is about.

So be sure to mark Friday, June 17th at 5:00 PM EST (2:00 PM PST) down on your calendar. Look forward to seeing you there!

Ask Lucifer Session (Fallen Angel AMA)

Hey there,


Quick changes have been made and we’re letting you know due to the reschedule for the Steam Game Festival, our planned AMA session for Fallen Angel will be held in our Steam Community hub on Thursday - June 18th from 4 to 6PM eastern (1-3PM pacific ). We’re an open book when it comes to Fallen Angel. As such, we’ll be offering a demo playthrough of Fallen Angel during the festival! Give it a go and let us know what you think! We’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback about our game. We look forward to hearing from you then!
