Weapons of the Underworld
Greetings, everyone!
First of, we're happy to mention that during Digital Dragons Indie Celebration (May 13-15) you can play an early demo of There Is No Light – Just grab it from the game's page!

In todays update we'd like to tell you more about the combat system in There Is No Light - namely, weapons that players will unlock as they progress through the game.

The player’s starting weapon. A balanced sword, deadly in the hands of a skilled player. Leveling up Omen unlocks the full potential of the weapon’s special ability, and expands the player’s moveset.
Works well against both groups of enemies and single targets alike. Due to the average attack distance, you always leave yourself room for retreat, allowing quick-witted players to dodge incoming attacks.

Combat gauntlets, which unlock after defeating a mighty Bearer of Vice. Unlike Omen, Superbia excels at one-on-one combat. It’s lightning-fast attacks, along with the ability to increase movement speed , allows the player to move around the battlefield at great speed. Due to Superbia’s small attack range , the chance of getting hurt increases, which makes fighting with Superbia more risky and aggressive.

A massive greatsword, which unlocks after defeating another powerful Bearer of Vice. Due to its enormous length, it has the slowest attack speed of all the weapons available, but Mendaicum more than compensates for this with a large attack range. Great for fighting off swarms of weak enemies - Mendacium will deal with them as quickly as possible, and will keep you at a safe distance!

The last of the available weaponry is currently in the active stages of development and testing. It will radically differ from all other weapons, and while we can’t give all of the details yet, let’s just say that its playstyle is much more focused on defense.
Be sure to follow There Is No Light on social media for more screenshots, concept art and other insights into development of the game - and, if you like what you see, please add the game to your Steam wishlist!
