The Falconeer: Revolution Remaster News

A sneak peak at the new Imperial Peak and combat.

[p]Hi everyone,

I must admit these last few weeks I have finally had the time to record some remaster footage, and with an official announce coming very soon it's about time to share some things.

Also I just finished overhauling the mouse/keyboard controls, instead of opting for several different hard to setup schemes, I am focusing all my effort on a bespoke mkb scheme for the remaster. If you own the old/vanilla Falconeer and want to beta test some of these changes, join the discord and hit me up for the closed beta.

As a request if you enjoyed the Falconeer and perhaps are rooting for this remaster to succeed, and you've never left a user review for the old game, this new remaster represent more than a year of work and its going to come to existing users as a free upgrade. Consider leaving a user review to boost the remaster's chances.

On with the goodies.

Check out the new Imperial peak and the new lighting and hyper detail. (do note that more refined collisions and collision response has been worked on as well, much needed , cuz you wanna get close)[/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]And probably even more spectacular I've been working on a custom dynamic lighting system that allows for tracerfire and local lights. And it's if I may say so ..... pretty darn spectacular.
[/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]Well that's it for another tease.
Again, this is a pure labour of love, doing a remaster for the Falconeer might be commercial suicide. So any support here, a review or a follow of my developer profile really helps.

I ain't to proud to beg....... cheerio and hope you all enjoy the eye-candy..

Teasing the future of the Falconeer

Its been an interesting 5 years!
[p]November 10 2020 the Falconeer released and my reasonably public journey as a Solodev began in earnest. And it's been a bit of a ride. Including many many updates, expansions, DLC, VR and more for just the Falconeer and in 2024 I launched Bulwark a chill citybuilder in the same universe, the Ursee.

Funded by the proceeds from the Falconeer, and aimed more directly at Steam audiences. And the result has been good, a journey similar to the Falconeer of discovery and learning.

And in turn Bulwark has made it possible , nay necessary, to return to the Falconeer. Necessity required me to turn to a new game, because game development is a hit style business. Old games don't make the bank. But yet I have done just that, spend some to on the original Falconeer.

And it's team to tease it a bit. This isn't an official announcement or trailer release, just a sneak peek for you owners of the game and those interested in this universe. So a remaster? really? yes.... These things kinda happen on a whim, one morning I was too anxious about stuff to start something new and I saw yet another comment of a user complaining about controller issues (something likely broke with an older version of a thing that required updating). So I decided to backport some of the general architecture updates back into Falconeer. And then I decided to fix a list of the most common issues folks had, (control wise, collisions, bugs, mission length, aim assist, fast travel, you name it). Soon I realised this was gonna get bigger. Then I did the thing.. I put one of the much more detailed buildings of Bulwark into the Falconeer. And with the tighter collisions , it was ... nice. Really nice.. So I've been juggling two games for close to a year now. And backporting a few buildings turned into a full reworking of much of the art. Including the bird itself, animations, fx, you name it. And a remaster was born. So I cannot spoil much more, since it's not been announced officially yet. But watch this space![/p][p]
Or watch my Youtube channel to see development updates and streams :[/p]
[dynamiclink][/dynamiclink]Sneak Peek begins:
[p]
Individual feathers yay![/p][p]Port Remit is looking nice and exotic. [/p][p] [/p][p]Bird armorsets are now a thing. Also Imperial Harbour has grown substantially stretching several more islands to more feel like a proper capitol city.[/p][p][/p][p]All the ships got new detail models, more sails, riggging and such missing features such as proper metal shading and shine. There will also be a lot more ships
[/p][h2]Conclusion[/h2][p]So far for the tease and non-announce. There will be opportunity to beta test and provide your own feedback via the Discord. You can expect most of the known issues to be tackled, but I do need help confirming this and confirming some of the new systems like the collision improvements and avoidance is better. I cannot do it without you!

Also you can now follow me as a Developer, and get updates on all my games and generally support me as a Solodev on steam: Click here to follow me on my developer page: https://store.steampowered.com/developer/TomasSala

This is the single most supportive thing, besides purchasing my games , that you can do.
And your support is appreciated and required in this new harsher game development industry. Niche games like Falconeer and Bulwark aren't normally games that get supported over many years. But I am trying and I want to make more games in this Universe and more expansions. And some of the work I am doing on Falconeer is also laying down an architecture for new Falconeer adventures.

If that sounds like a something you'd like to be a part of, then follow me on Discord, Bluesky or here on steam :)

Thank you all and apologies I could not return to Falconeer earlier.[/p]

Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks 1.0 Launches on Steam

We are excited to announce that our publisher Wired Productions and developer Caged Element have officially launched Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks on Steam today. Following an early access phase that saw over 250,000 players blast opponents, this high-octane combat racing game has had some tuning up and has sped into 1.0.

Last week, Wired Productions revealed they had taken over publishing rights – removing microtransactions entirely - and introducing fresh tracks, maps, game modes, and customization options. Assemble your crew of Grotz, Gitz, and Squigz – and battle in PVP and PVE lobbies!

Visit the Warhammer site for more details and stay tuned for insights into the game's next explosive chapter, as Wired Productions continues its partnership with Caged Element, the original publisher of 2018’s acclaimed GRIP: Combat Racing. Embrace the chaos, ignite the battles, and experience the thrill of Speed Freeks like never before.

Warhammer 40,000: Speed Freeks is available now on Steam at a special discounted price of just $15.99, €15.99 and £12.79.

New content includes:
  • Player-hosted games: Create private or public lobbies with custom settings.
  • New Vehicle – Trukk: A havoc-wreaking ambush vehicle with a fearsome amount of firepower and rowdy orks in the back.
  • New Game Mode - Free Roam: Choose any map and create custom races around it, as well as practice driving skills and abilities.
  • New Maps: Da Dust Up and Da Gorge are Speed Freeks’ most dynamic and visually striking to date.
  • Ork Pit Bosses: Players can now unlock and customize Ork avatars to show off to teammates and enemies alike.
  • Alternative Weapons: Unlockable weapons expand the playstyles of each vehicle for new ways to master them.
