Today is a spectacular day!

TLDR: After 6 months of trying to recover the data I lost (previous post explains more), I finally got the data recovered and have picked up where I left off working on Cat & Mouse.

About 6 months ago 4 of my Hard Drives died simultaneously (I made a post on here and on discord about the issue explaining more) and since then I have been constantly looking for ways of recovering my data without having to pay insane prices. Recently I found someone who was awesome and inexpensive. After about a week he had my data restored and today I got it all back!

Now that I am able to work on Cat & Mouse again I have started to pick back up where I left off and at the end of the month I will have another update on how I will be moving forward. For now Im just STOKED to have my data back and Im crazy excited to start pumping out content.

Anyway, today is awesome, thanks for sticking around and playing this stupid game!

I just wanted to let everyone know that for the time being Cat & Mouse will not receive a new update for the foreseeable future. I posted on the Discord server a while back but didnt post here because I wanted to have some kind of plan before announcing anything.

From Discord:
"Long story short I had 4 of my drives die on me in the middle of upgrading my PC. Yes, I had backups, however they were all fried when my main drive died.
Everything I had been working on over the past few months is gone. However, I may be able to get my data back if I can get the funds together to have it recovered.
Cat & Mouse will be finished, but its still up in the air as to when. If I can get the data from my drives I will be back to working on C&M as soon as I can, with the new hardware I have installed it will be a breeze to finish this project.

I'll keep everyone up to date on what happens from here on out."

This is all still true with the exception of whether or not its even financially viable for me to get my data back. I have found some places that are better priced and possibly wont destroy me financially just to get 1 HDDs worth of data back. The moment I receive the data I need to continue working on Cat & Mouse I will pump out content. This is really lame and embarrassing but whatever, Im not perfect but I am already being far more careful with internal and external backups and cloud backups so there should never be an issue like this in the future. Hey, its ProzackPH7,

This post is to let the 5 people who play this game know that I will continue to work on Cat & Mouse however I wont be able to focus as much time into this project as I had originally anticipated. I had to be honest with myself and recognize that the amount of time and effort I put into this game before launching it on Steam took a lot out of me, sapped me of creative motivation and desire. Dont misinterpret this as me abandoning this game, I just wanted to let everyone know that Im going to work on other projects in tandem to keep me from getting burned out on this one and hate my life. Im going to post more information later on and the additions I have made sometime soon.

So in short there will be no update this month and the timeline for Cat & Mouse is up in the air for the time being. Sorry for the lame update, but it is what it is I suppose. Anyway...

Im reaching out to the community to let you guys know that I am indeed working constantly on this game; I just hadn't figured out a great schedule for releasing status updates or just posting info into steam. I have been posting information and small status updates on the discord server (https://discord.gg/6mNYgaW ) with regular updates but I realized it doesnt reach people who are wishlisted or who are following the game. So from here on out I will be posting everything on both Steam and the Discord server. Below I have outlined the first Major update to CAT & MOUSE, future updates, and links for the Trello, Youtube, Twitter, and Discord pages.

Next Update
Anyway, the next update will be fairly large as it includes many changes to the art, gameplay, and UI:

• New predator type (Owl)
  
• New outdoor levels
  
• New UI Elements (Scoreboard, goal markers, text Chat)
  
• New Decals
  
• Many large and small bug fixes
  

Currently there is no date specified for this update because I have no idea how long the art is going to take to get looking gooood; however you can expect the update to happen before the end of this month. If anything changes I will be sure to post about it as soon as possible.

Future Updates
Following the major update, CAT & MOUSE will receive regular minor updates every other Sunday afternoon and major updates once a month. I have chosen this amount of time because it keeps me vocal to you guys and forces me to be more disciplined in the amount of content I should focus on in one update. Minor updates will include art/level tweaking, UI fixes and any bug fixed in that time. Major updates include New Prey or Predators, new levels, additional game modes, Singleplayer, major networking changes, and any bug that is fixed before it is release. Each minor and major release will have a news update with it, however the game may update between these as hotfixes - these will more often than not have nothing associated with it on steam or discord but can be visible on Trello if you pay close attention.
