Holiday 2020 Developer Update

Greetings, Tavern Keeps!

Today we want to update everyone on the current state of development, and where we’re headed with the game. We put out our first roadmap several months ago, and for the most part, have been able to stay on pace with that as it was shown. However, as we are now entering the holiday season, and the team begins to plan spending time (safely!) with family, we want to avoid rushing out features or content in a state that doesn’t hold up to our quality standards.

For this reason, we have decided to hold off on the November update, and to focus on assembling the second roadmap, along with a more robust update after the holidays. The feedback and input from the community is a source of fantastic motivation for us, and has given us plenty to look over while we choose our next features.

We wish everyone a safe, happy, and healthy holiday season! We urge everyone to take particular care this year as we all try to navigate the difficulties of the pandemic and what it means for our holiday traditions. We’re looking forward to 2021, and everything the new year will bring for Travellers Rest!

Minor Patch 0.3.2.1

Greetings, Tavern Keeps!

Today we have a minor bug fix patch to smooth out a few issues that were reported with the October Update. Work is ongoing behind the scenes for the November Road Map Update, and we’ll have more to share on that soon! Here are the changes for today:

- Beer name tags added to crafting menus
- Crafting station can now access chests from anywhere in the tavern
- Fixed a bug causing modifier UI to be unable to open chests
- Increased the amount of spirits gained from distilling
- Changed some text colours to be more readable
- Increased the font size of pop-ups (added last update but forgot it in patch notes)
- Fixed an issue causes the cat to clip into the wall
- Fixed an issue causing the camera to lock position after upgrading a room

We appreciate the community going above and beyond to give feedback and report bugs and issues. As we’re putting together the next several months for the road map, we encourage you all to drop by on Discord and share your thoughts and ideas. We take our content, features, and changes from the community’s feedback, and we would love to hear from you!

We use the suggestions channel to pull from for our future work, so we encourage everyone to drop a line or two about your favorite ideas!

October Roadmap, Halloween, and Crossroads Inn!

Greetings Tavern Keeps,

It’s that time again! Today we roll out the features for our October Roadmap Update. We have quite a bit here to unpack, so brace yourselves! Gone are the days when your crafting room was so small you had, nowhere to put your stations. This update brings the expanded crafting room, which will allow you more space and freedom to set up your crafting the way you like. The extra room can be unlocked through upgrades.

We also have the distillery ready to go, expanding again the choices for the types of drinks you’ll be able to serve. You can now offer various spirits and liqueurs in addition to all of your wines, beers, and other drinks. Along with these features come further quality of life improvements, and bug fixes as well.

For those who may be worried that we’ve forgotten the Halloween update items, not to worry. The spooky season goodies will be rolling out next week in an update all their own. This allows us to align the content with an upcoming promotion for the game. Stay tuned for more on that!

Here are the notes for this month’s Roadmap Update:

New stuff:
  • Distilling: Create various spirits and liqueurs to sell in your tavern
  • Expanded crafting room, unlocked through upgrades
  • Crafting stations automatically pull ingredients from chests
  • Access all crafting room chests from the recipe modifier menu
  • Recipe Book: Browse and search through all available recipes
  • Sort your chests and inventory by name or by item type
  • Recipe search bar on crafting stations
  • Brew cider!
  • You can now place items in the farming area

Bug fixes:
  • Sprint bar now regenerates while walking
  • Sliders on the color picker are now fixed
  • Orders now require a full keg to complete
  • Fixed issues with tavern floor worker not cleaning some tables
  • Coaster should now place properly on table edges
  • Increased hit box on logs and sticks found outside
  • Items placed on the player’s bed will now save correctly
  • Fruit is now a valid modifier for sausages

What? You thought we were done? Not a chance! We are thrilled to announce that our friends at Klabater have agreed to bundle their game, Crossroads Inn, with Travellers Rest! This means that owners of either game have the option to receive a 10% discount on the purchase of the other title. Here is a little about the game:

Crossroads Inn is a real time management sim set in an original fantasy world of Delcrys. Build and manage your tavern, make visiting adventurers happy, and make your services famous all over the land.

Why manage one tavern when you can manage two? Crazy!

We have yet more to come in the month of October, so keep your eye on our social channels and Discord for more news! As always, we’re available on the Discord to chat, or listen to suggestions and feedback. If you run into any bugs or issues, you can let us know there as well. See you next time with more update news!

Travellers Rest Tribune 6

Greetings Travellers,

It’s hard to believe we’re already preparing to release our second Road Map Update! Work has been moving along quickly, and we’re happy to share a couple of teasers for the upcoming update. As everyone knows, October is really just Halloween. We’ve been getting into the spirit (you see what we did there?) and are preparing a few surprises to go along with the roadmap features that will be rolling out later this month.

We won’t spoil it all, but we think it’ll add a little seasonal flare, and offer a few fun things to add personality to your tavern.

We’d also like to share more about the distillery, which is one of the headline features for the roadmap update for this month. The Distillery is a new crafting station where you can create a variety of liquor! You'll be able to turn your harvested grains and fruit into drinks such as Vodka and Whiskey. Some liquor, such as Rum, will also require you to age the drink in the recently added Ageing Barrels. Sell the distilled liquor in your tavern alongside beers and wine to provide your customers with a variety of drinks to choose from!

As you can see, the game is continuing to grow, and we’re so happy that the community is taking such an active part in that. We love seeing all the comments, feedback, and general fun that everyone gets up to on our Discord. Be sure to hop in and join us, we’d love to hear from you!
