v1.39 Patch Notes

Hi folks,

We are releasing a new stability patch for DemonCrawl today! This version also includes a few quality of life improvements - in particular, we have added confirmation dialogs for important buttons that could be activated by mistake.

As for Android, we are running into a number of issues with GameMaker's new IAP implementation. Unfortunately, we cannot release any new patches on Android until these issues have been resolved. We spent the better part of last week looking through our code for mistakes but our efforts have turned up short. At this point, we suspect there may be a bug in the GameMaker framework itself. We wish we had better news on this front, but until we hear from GameMaker's support team, we must put mobile development on the backburner.

On the bright side, DemonCrawl's free expansion, Sweeping Heights, is coming along really well. We should have some teasers to share with you in the coming weeks. :-)

Balance Changes
  • The 60-second timer penalty for reloading a stage no longer applies to Casual or Normal difficulties


Quality of Life
  • Added confirmation window for abandoning the quest mid-stage
  • Added confirmation window for restarting the quest
  • Added confirmation window for using an heirloom
  • Exiting the Options screen can return you directly to your stage instead of the main menu
  • Updated Resolute Horn description to clarify that it only triggers on stage completion


Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a crash related to Pagan mod log entry
  • Fixed a crash related to Bruises dealing damage in a Flawless stage
  • Fixed Wanted Poster bypassing omen immunity
  • Fixed visual alignment issue when immmutable objects are hit with bubble projectiles
  • Fixed interaction between Magical Bean and Divine Lantern
  • Fixed a few instances of lingering tooltips after clicking on an object
  • Fixed Heavy Burden not working correctly with chest items
  • Fixed Fickle stage mod incorrectly triggering through Strangers or Landmarks
  • Immortal mastery now sets your max life directly instead of incurring life loss
  • Chests in Cursed cells will no longer guarantee omens if you managed to reduce your omen chance to 0
  • Speculative fix for unlocked blueprint count exceeding total blueprints
  • Speculative fix for variable overflow leading to crash with item alert script
