Sweeping Heights launches June 2nd!

We are very excited to announce that DemonCrawl's first expansion, Sweeping Heights, will be releasing on Steam June 2nd, 2020! That's less than a couple weeks away!

Sweeping Heights is a massive content update that completely overhauls the endgame and introduces many new items, mechanics, and cosmetic rewards. After 3 months of non-stop development, we are quite pleased with the fruit of our labor, and we think you will be too.

As a way of thanking you for your tremendous support, we have decided to make Sweeping Heights available for free, forever. (You just need to own a copy of the base game.)
Some of the new features you can expect from Sweeping Heights:
• 7 exciting new masteries
 • Over 50 new items
 • The Endless Multiverse 2.0
 • Bosses now have powerful boss mods
 • New metaprogression system called "Sigils." These new endgame items have randomized properties that can be rerolled using crafting materials
 • Beyond Quest overhaul - more intricate/refined system for creating Beyond quests
 • 5 new special stages: the Guild, Academy, Lighthouse, Smithy, and Starpond
 • 4 new strangers: the Doctor, Gambler, Mage and Guide
 • Ability to sell artifacts and other metaprogression materials for Tokens
 • Completing the daily Hero Trial now rewards you with a prizebox instead of a flat amount of Tokens

...There's more, but you'll have to wait to find out ;)

Also, if you haven't seen it yet, we invite you to check out our recent trailer for the Endless Multiverse overhaul:

Thank you so much for reading! We will have more to share with you soon.

Stay safe.

Introducing the Endless Multiverse 2.0!

We are very excited to unveil the Endless Multiverse 2.0, a complete overhaul for one of DemonCrawl's most ambitious gamemodes!

Check out our video spotlight below:

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

The core loop of the Multiverse has been drastically altered as follows:

 • Dimensional Portals no longer require you to sacrifice items or stats to proceed. Instead, they will automatically reset your inventory and stats to starting values. (A fresh slate.)
 • The Metagate will acquire a new "Portal Mod" with each dimension. These special mods will impact the difficulty of the following dimension in interesting ways.

Meanwhile, players will gain access to a number of awesome new features, designed to mitigate losses during dimensional travel:

 • New stranger: Guide - Exclusive to the Metagate. He will help you whitelist certain items or stats when you enter the Dimensional Portal. Unlike most strangers, you may only pay each Guide once.
 • New legendary items: Memento - Found only in Endless Multiverse Item Shops, each Memento presents a mini-quests of sorts; if you can meet its conditions, you will receive a buff at the start of the next dimension. There is a Memento based around the mechanics of each Mastery.
 • New landmark: Vault - The Vault allows you to deposit a specific item that will persist between dimensions. You can retrieve this item from the next Vault you encounter, however you must leave another item in its place.

Endless Multiverse 2.0 will be available with the release of the Sweeping Heights expansion, currently scheduled for late May to early June.

We hope you're looking forward to it as much as we are!

50% Discount Through March

Hello folks,

In light of the coronavirus pandemic, we have decided to run a 50% discount on DemonCrawl through the rest of March, effective tomorrow (3/17) at 10 AM Pacific.

We understand that money and recreation are both in short supply right now, and we want to help by making our game available to as many people as possible.

On a related note: we were originally scheduled to fly out to San Fransisco to attend the Game Developer's Conference today. Understandably, the event has been postponed (along with our trip), but we fully intend to go in the summertime. With any luck, the virus situation will be under control by then, and we hope to meet up with some of you there!

In the meantime, stay safe, keep your spirits up, and play lots of videogames.
