Total War: Warhammer 3 fans are concerned Kislev has too many bears

We still don't know the official release date for Total War: Warhammer III, but there has still been a steady stream of news about the game's various factions over the last few weeks. However, the reveal of the full roster for the Kislev army has left fans wondering - can one have too many bears?

The word 'bear' appears in the Kislev army roster 24 times, with the Gryphon Legion getting the notable characteristic "not riding bears." Even ignoring the War Bear Riders and the artillery-mounted bear-pulled war sleds, every Legendary Lord character in the faction can have a War Bear as a personal mount. There's even a giant Elemental bear too that's ready to crush all under its icy paw.

This rather extreme amount of bears has provoked fierce debate on the Total War subreddit, where fans have mixed opinions on what qualifies too many bears. However, the most prominent view is that developer Creative Assembly did not need to give every Legendary Lord in Kislev a War Bear mount.

Total War: Warhammer 3's Khorne army roster has been revealed

Hot on the heels of the rollout of the Total War: Warhammer III Kislev army roster comes the roster reveal for the strategy game's Daemons of Khorne, an altogether unpleasant group of people who are fond of the colour red and despise anything ranged. The forces of Khorne refuse to use magic or missile weapons, and instead plow forward into battle, constantly on the hunt for more skulls to present to their master.

At the head of the pack is Khorne's legendary lord, the cursed bloodthirster Skarbrand. Disfigured and driven to near madness by the Blood God's vengeance for his past insolence, Skarbrand is relentless in battle. His Wrathful Reaper ability means he will never be distracted from killing once he's joined a battle, and Rage Embodied makes following him into combat irresistible to all those who see him.

Creative Assembly has revealed two more Khorne lords as well. There's the Exalted Bloodthirster, a massive winged beast that is a "harbinger of bellowing death" and second only to Skarbrand in the pecking order of daemonic leaders. Then there's the Herald of Khorne, a Bloodletter whose presence inspires nearby daemons to fight ever more furiously. Heralds can ride into battle atop Juggernauts or Blood Thrones.

Total War: Warhammer 3's Kislev gets its full army roster

Creative Assembly has been giving us regular information drops on Total War: Warhammer III for the past month or so now. Last month a teaser was released for the Kislev army, with follow-up articles looking at specific units. The studio also recently 'announced' the Khorne faction (even though we already knew it was a faction), and is doing a similar thing there as well.

Today, the studio unveiled the full army roster for Kislev. Everything from legendary lords and minor heroes, to the specifics of infantry, cavalry, and what monsters the popular Warhammer 3 race will have available. Any unanswered questions you have regarding the roster itself should now be answered, although it's worth noting the article is light on specific stats and abilities.

I was surprised to learn that there are, in fact, two variants of the bear-powered war sleds, because clearly one wasn't enough. There are also two legendary lords, normal lords, and heroes each, although nothing hugely surprising there. There is but one single artillery unit. Check out our Warhammer 3 Kislev guide for further analysis.
