Total War: Warhammer 3's new trailer shows off Kislev's big, awesome bears

Kislev and Khorne are going head to head in the newest Total War: Warhammer 3 trailer that just landed today. The next part of Creative Assembly's series is giving some serious love to the snowy folks of fantasy Russia with cavalry bears, magical bears, and other pretty cool looking icy units. You can spot the lot in the new cinematic trailer right here ahead of the gameplay reveal that's still scheduled for tomorrow.

Creative Assembly has just dropped a new trailer for Total War: Warhammer III, and it's pretty intense. The new video for the highly anticipated strategy game uses in-engine footage to showcase Kislev's struggle against the forces of Chaos, specifically Khorne.

In the trailer you see a Kislev man give in to his rage, resentful that his nation is doomed to be the bulwark against Chaos for an ungrateful world. We think he might be Tzarina Katarina's dad Boris, although the voice actor is different from the narrator of the reveal trailer. Whoever he is, he returns with an army to try and conquer his own people. Tzarina Katarina takes him on, her forces battling Khornate Chaos mutations outside of a settlement. A Kislev woman wanders around looking worried. There's a lot of fire.

The trailer was actually leaked earlier today when it briefly appeared on Creative Assembly's Facebook channels. It was live long enough for several eagle-eyed community members to take video captures and screenshots. We weren't expecting more information on Warhammer III until tomorrow, when the gameplay reveal is due to take place. Perhaps the leak prompted the studio to go live with the trailer early, especially considering it's out in the wild now. This isn't the only Warhammer III leak to have cropped up recently, with details on a new battle type surfacing last week.

Total War Access - everything you need to know

So, just what is Total War Access anyway? Well, to give you the cliff notes; it's a unified login for all Total War games. It involves a mailing list (which you can opt out of) and a range of freebies which have included everything from in-game content, to money off deals, and ebooks.

Beyond that, it's likely an experiment by Creative Assembly to unify their users under one umbrella so that they can engage with the fanbase in one place, perhaps even one day creating some kind of loyalty program. The freebies given away so far have been interesting but not ground-breaking - the most exciting perhaps being the free Regiments of Renown released for Total Warhammer 1 races, as well as the Gotrek and Felix DLC for Warhammer 2.

This latter DLC was originally only available as an exclusive via the September 2019 issue of White Dwarf, but after that was made available for all Total War Access members. Total War Access itself is free, so you don't need to pay or subscribe to gain access to the freebies. You also remain eligible for free goodies even if you opt out of all of the marketing communication that goes out via the platform.
