Hades 2 version 1.0 finally has a release date, praise Zeus and the rest of them

Supergiant Games have finally done The Thing, following some patch teases that'd left things in a bit of an 'either go or get off the pot' situation. Hades 2's full release is nigh, with version 1.0 set to drop later this month.

I'm pleased, because the sequel to the horniest ancient Greek roguelike of all time was already very good in early access form. I'm also terrified, because it's not like September hasn't already had enough games to fight for my attention, between Silksong and Borderlands 4. I mean, I've not gotten around to playing either of those yet, because basketball, but hey.

Among the additions coming in v1.0, Hades II offers cross-saves between the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions and the version here on Steam. If you've been playing in Early Access and wish to continue the journey on Nintendo's game consoles, you'll be able to transfer your save data through a simple in-game menu.

Hades II is our team's first-ever sequel, and we've been giving it everything we've got for more than four and a half years. Since May of 2024, we've been developing in Early Access, taking feedback from our player community to try and fully realize this game's potential. The result is the biggest game we've ever made, and one we hope you'll find to be a worthy successor to its namesake.

To all our Early Access players, thank you so much for all the inspiration and support! And to all our prospective players, thank you for your patience. We can't wait to share the full game with you later this month!

Sike, Hades 2 devs Supergiant had another pre-full release patch hiding under their himation

The last patch is never the last patch. CD Projekt have been teaching us that lesson for about a year with Cyberpunk 2077, and now Hades 2 is the latest game to have its devs go 'no, wait, one more'. It wasn't. An eleventh early access patch has hit the underworld, but the devs swear it'll be the last one for realsies this time.

Hades 2 sneaks in one final early access patch before it hits 1.0

Just a few weeks ago, Supergiant Games rolled out its final Hades 2 update ahead of its 1.0 launch. But given just how revered its predecessor was, Hades 2 must strive for absolute perfection if it wants to outdo the original. So, Supergiant is squeezing in a final final patch for the game - but sadly there's still no word on when that 1.0 date will be.
