We are very grateful and honored to have earned the award for Best Action Game for Hades II at The Game Awards! Watch our acceptance moment here. Hades II is not just the culmination of nearly five years of development, but of our studio's entire history aiming to craft fast, responsive, reactive games filled with interesting and surprising moments.


Likewise, what an honor it was to be in contention for Best Independent Game, Best Score and Music, Best Artistic Direction, Best Game Direction, and even Game of the Year... especially since we were in the company of such an amazing group of wildly different and beautiful games.

We salute all our fellow nominees (most of which are available here on Steam!), and congratulate Sandfall Interactive's Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 for earning that highest honor and many more.

You were only hungry, and the modders controlling your great maw were keen to see how Melinoë would cope with taking on the roguelike run through the underworld which Zagreus blazes through in the first game.

Thank you for playing Hades II, which is currently the most critically acclaimed game of the year according to Metacritic and OpenCritic, and the highest-rated game in our studio's history!

We're thrilled with that accomplishment, as well as our recent Game of the Year nomination, and grateful to all our players for joining us in the Underworld once more, or for the first time!

After nearly five years of development, and more than a year of Early Access, we launched v1.0 of Hades II this fall! It since became the most critically acclaimed game of the year according to Metacritic and OpenCritic, an incredible honor considering how many fantastic games have shipped this year. If you likewise had a good experience it, we would greatly appreciate your consideration in this year's Steam Awards, which are a powerful way to lend your support for your personal favorites!

Our foremost goal with Hades II was to ensure our first-ever sequel could be a worthy successor to the original.
