Update 9 - Crafting Update!

We have ANOTHER BIG update available today! CRAFTING has been added to Deadtime Defenders!

[h2]Crafting[/h2]
You can now craft health packs, grenades, molotovs, and a bunch of explosives! Find the blueprint for each item as a drop in game to learn the recipe. Gather up enough materials to create the item. Visit Mac in the HQ at the crafting table and he'll help you craft the gadget. Equip these gadgets in your Loadout and take them on your missions!




[h2]Game Improvements[/h2]
We've cranked up visuals throughout the game, and improved a bunch of the menus. We also added a bunch of QoL fixes and improved the balancing some more. The biggest balancing change is that explosives now do self-damage. Be careful out there!

• CRAFTING! Create health packs, grenades, molotovs, and explosives to help you on your runs!
• Player now teleports in / out of the Zones.
• Added explosion flash VFX to rockets and grenades showing area of influence.
• Added a bunch of new hair / beard colors to the Character Creator.
• Players can mouse click the portal in the HQ to open up the Zone Select menu.
• Added new and improved art assets for the Giant Toad in the Bayou.
• Added particles, improved art, and visual polish to all zones.
• Added a parallax effect to the new foreground layer in zones.
• Added a new shadow sprite for entities.
• Changed Talents to Augments to better fit the theme of the game.
• Adjusted the beam colors for loot drops.
• Zoomed the camera out a bit to show a bit more gameplay area.
• Berzerker perk has a particle system when activated.

[h3]Rebalancing[/h3]
• Explosives and explosive weapons now cause self-damage. Take care when firing them now!
• Shotgun close range damage increased.
• Blitz Mode now unlocks at level 3 and not level 10.
• Reduced the drop rate of med-kits.
• Scrapping items now yields crafting materials instead of giving the player nothing.
• Cyclone (mini-gun) won't roll the Lucky One talent anymore.
• Snapper won't roll the Lucky One talent anymore.

[h3]UI Improvements[/h3]
• Changed Zone Select title to Run Setup.
• Big improvements to the visuals of the Weapon Spray menu.
• Added a visual preview of the current weapon spray at the bottom of the weapons details card.
• Added a Vault menu upgrades panel to upgrade the available vault space.
• Added particle effect to the Run Setup menu.
• Added an indicator to the HUD for Weapons and Gadgets to show which key will activate it.
• Reduced the size of the timer display on the Crystal Boss.
• Reduced the size of elements on the Run Complete menu.
• Reduced the size of the NPC dialog box.
• Reduced the size of the Ravenous Games logo during the splash screen.
• Reduced the size of the buttons in the Recalibration station.
• Reduced the size of the Perk and Weapon slot selection menus.
• Reduced the size of the mouse cursor.

• Fixed a bug that would allow Apex items to roll at anything less than level 30.
• Fixed a bug that caused items to disappear when buying or selling items at the vendor.
• Fixed a bug when unlocking new zones causing the highlighter to disappear when using a gamepad.
• Fixed a bug that could cause weapons to show their weapon skin correctly.
• Fixed a bug with 3:2 aspect ratio calculation.
• Fixed the layout / positioning of the background on the Character Creator menu and the Loadout menu.

Update 8 - A new rarity appears! APEX items are now available!

Hey everyone! We have a BIG update here - we added an BRAND NEW RARITY to the end-game for Deadtime Defenders!

APEX is a new rarity (red) available to players who've reached level 30. APEX weapons come with either 2 talents and 3 mod slots, or 1 talent and 4 mods slots. APEX costumes come with 2 talents. APEX mods, costumes, and weapons, all have increased stats. You can't buy APEX items, you must find them from looting.

We also added 4 new costume talents, fixed a ton of bugs, and improved more of the UI / UX.

We can't wait to hear what kind of dual talented items everyone finds!

• Added a new rarity (red) for loot called APEX! Apex weapons can come with 2 talents or 4 mod slots, and Apex costumes come with 2 talents!
• Added new loot sound effects plus screen shake when loot appears.
• Added 4 new costume talents: Elite soldier, Quick Reloads, Paramedic and XP Boost.
• Display a shield around the player when invincibility is activated from perks.
• Selecting the player on the Loadout shows the costume details now.
• Players can now click on the player portrait in the HUD to open the backpack menu.
• Improved the UX in the weapon spray station menu by moving the equipped weapons to the top of the list.
• Display the weapon category on the Codex items.
• Display the location on the Codex items.
• Added sorting options to the Codex menu.
• Improved the layout of the Character Creator menu.
• Added button to the Pause Menu to bring up the Loadout screen.
• Added some explainer text to the recalibration station about what it does and how you can't re-roll APEX items.

• Increased the radius for nearby enemy detection for the Kaboom perk.
• Flamethrower won't roll the Explosive Bullets talent anymore.

[h3]Bugfixes[/h3]
• Fixed bugs that prevented weapon talents from working correctly.
• Fixed bugs that prevented costume talents from working correctly.
• Fixed a bug that wouldn't reset enemies invulnerable state which would make them impossible to kill.
• Fixed a bug that wasn't setting the player's health back to full when leveling up.
• Fixed a bug that would allow the display of the critical hit chance to be greater the 100% on a weapon.
• Fixed a bug that could cause the layout to happen incorrectly on the talent display box.
• Fixed a bug with the Kaboom perk.
• Fixed a bug with the Slugger perk.

Update 7 - Over-levelling and improved UI!

Hey everyone! We've added some new end-game content in the form of over-levelling. When you reach the level cap of 30, you earn "grit levels". These are highlighted in the new and improved UI in this update. Grit levels provide MANY more hours of gameplay!

We've improved all the UI in the game and the most notable improved screens are the loadout menu and the HUD during gameplay. We've reduced the font size and the button size in almost all games.

• Added new OVER-LEVELLING system called - Grit Levels. After reaching the level cap of 30 you can continue to earn progress as you progress towards grit level 100.
• Improved the UI / UX in all menus.

• Removed the weapon inspection menu and equip mods directly on the loadout menu.

• Fixed a bug that wasn't updating the high score for a Blitz Mode run.
• Fixed a bug with some of the keywords not getting highlighted correctly in menus.

Update 6 - Recalibration Station

Another week, another big update! The RECALIBRATION STATION is here! If you want a bit more control on the RNG in the game - this is the answer! You'll be able to re-roll item stats, upgrade item rarities, and re-roll Legendary weapon talents.
