Icarus Will Support RTX Global Illumination And NVIDIA DLSS

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
At NVIDIA’s Computex 2021 Keynote Icarus was exclusively announced as supporting RTX Global Illumination (GI) and NVIDIA DLSS!

This means gamers in the GeForce RTX family will experience the highest levels of performance and visuals in Icarus, bringing the planet to life in intricate detail.

It was great to be featured alongside established titles like Doom Eternal and Red Dead Redemption 2 - we’re in good company!

Icarus GameRunner Dean Hall is really excited about the extra immersion this graphics tech will bring to the survival game genre. “Ray-traced global illumination brings the hand-crafted worlds of Icarus to life with another level of realism. NVIDIA DLSS provides a significant performance boost without any loss in image quality thanks to the Tensor Cores in GeForce RTX GPUs, ensuring our players have the smoothest possible experience,” says Dean.

In this week’s video, Game Runner Dean Hall describes the challenges around Icarus’ first time in the spotlight - revealing the game on the PC Gaming Show 2020.

“Played Not Made” has been a core pillar for Icarus’ development. Senior Producer Bobby Lever explains the value of regular in-office playtesting to help developers evaluate the changes they’ve made in real time and simulating future community feedback.

“The Making of Icarus” will publish new episodes weekly at www.youtube.com/surviveicarus made by our very own in-house cameraman Beinn Chapple-Law.
