A glimpse into some minigames coming to RV Camp DLC – Development Update #3

Hey, Gas Jockeys! ⛽
[p]It’s been a while since we last shared something about our upcoming Gas Station Simulator – RV Camp DLC. But hey – it’s summertime, so a little break is more than welcome, right? And speaking of summertime – what are your plans for the holidays? Maybe even a trip to an RV camp with your loved ones? Or simply charging up your batteries while playing your favourite games (which obviously means Gas Station Sim, of course)? Don’t hesitate to let me know in the comments! ☀️[/p][p]Now, let’s get back on track. Today, it’s high time we finally talk a little more about the gameplay itself. And if we’re talking gameplay, that obviously means minigames. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be a proper Gas Station Simulator DLC, right? Anyway, let’s not waste any more time—grab something refreshing to drink, and let’s get the party started. 🔥[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Shooting Range 🔫
[p]First of all, let me ask you one more question – is there anyone here who remembers the good old Chicken Shoot game? I remember when I was eight, I would constantly make fun of my mum and kind of bully her for a terrible score – only to find out later that I couldn’t even beat her lowest one. But wait a second – why am I even bothering you with this nonsense, you might ask? Well, it’s because the shooting range minigame in the RV Camp DLC is kind of similar to Chicken Shoot.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Please keep in mind that everything you see above is still work in progress. I just wanted to show you this material, so you can get a better glimpse of how the minigame looks like.[/p][p]
The idea is pretty simple – you face off against a guest to see who can score more points within 60 seconds. You’ll use your mouse to aim and shoot red targets while avoiding blue ones, which subtract points from your score. But watch out for special neutral targets like UFOs and coyotes – shooting them before your opponent gives you valuable extra points. Just like any other minigame in the RV Camp DLC, the shooting range offers three different difficulty levels to push your boundaries even further.[/p][p][/p]
Dishwashing 🍽️
[p]Now it’s time to talk about everyone’s favourite task of the day – dishwashing. Well, I feel like the name speaks for itself, but just in case you need a bit more explanation: you’ll need to wash a stack of dirty dishes before the water consumption bar runs out.[/p][p]As simple as it sounds, it might be much harder than you expect. First, after you clean the dish you need to place it in the correct category, and all of this while managing water usage efficiently. The upper bar (which right now shows the ECO phase, but it will be changed) will be divided into three sections. Depending on which section you finish, the higher the score will be. Fail to wash the dishes in time, and the service remains incomplete and you’ll have to try again. Now, enjoy this high-quality GIF of me cleaning the nasty dishes left by those pesky guests.[/p][p][/p]
BBQ 🔥
[p]It wouldn’t be a proper RV camp without the smell of juicy sausages and the sound of sizzling on the grill. In the barbecue minigame, you’ll take charge of the cookinging– duh. It’s a simple and relaxing minigame, in which you have to wait for the exact moment to take the meat from the grill. However, you’ll need to work fast and smart: serve everything before it burns, but on the other hand make sure it’s properly cooked. Otherwise the whole meal’s ruined. Choose your difficulty to spice things up, with more food types and a chance to earn bigger service cooldown bonuses. But be careful – burn even one item, and the guests won’t be impressed..[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Stay Up-to-Date 📰
[p]And unfortunately, that’s it for today. So, how did you enjoy this development update? Which minigame excites you the most? Or maybe you have some brand-new ones you’d like to see next? Don’t hesitate to leave a comment down below. Work on the DLC continues, and you can expect another sneak peek at the end of August. Until then, don’t forget to add the DLC to your wishlist.[/p][p]Have a wonderful rest of your day and a great weekend ahead. Cheers! 👋[/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink]P.S. Just before I let you go, there’s one more thing I’d like to share...[/p][p]Our friends from Garage Monkeys have announced another update for Car Dealer Simulator, which will include an online parts store.[/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink]~Sewek[/p][p][/p]

I’m Ruby with a shotgun – RV Camp DLC development update #2
Hello, Gas Jockeys! ⛽
[p]
Welcome to another development sneak peek at our upcoming Gas Station Simulator – RV Camp DLC! First and foremost, thank you so much for the invaluable feedback we received following the recent announcement. The design and production teams have already reviewed your suggestions and are currently exploring the possibility of including them in the DLC.

But let’s hit the road again and get back to the main topic of today’s devlog: the story and central character of this DLC – Ruby. Let’s roll! 🔥

\[/p][/p]
The Harsh Beginnings 😳
[p]
The story begins when your character takes a curious detour to investigate a new business not far from your thriving gas station. That business? A dusty, fledgling RV Camp business established on ash and dust.

You barely set foot past the entrance when you meet Ruby. She’s not exactly what you’d call welcoming. With a shotgun in one hand and a few words from the “bad” category in another, she makes it clear she’s not very fond of you.

Studies show that people often form their first impression within 7 to 10 seconds – and you can bet Ruby doesn’t leave a great one. But even that can be misleading.

Once Ruby learns who you are (yep, the person behind that booming gas station), her tone changes. She sees potential – but more importantly, She sees someone who might just help her biggest life change come true..

[/p]
New Troubles Arise 📈
[p]
As you begin working with Ruby, you’re introduced to the unique mechanics of RV camp management. She becomes your mentor – quick to point out mistakes, slow to give praise, and never off her game.

It’s not long before the camp begins to grow. With Ruby’s extended family – colorful cousins with quirks aplenty (and yes, they’ll be your employees) – the place slowly starts to come alive. But just as things are finally coming together, a familiar face may appear once again to change your plans.

And if you thought I’ll share who that might be – you’re more than wrong. I’ve promised myself that there’ll be no spoilers, so don’t tempt me to share anything with you 😉

[/p]
Stay up-to-date 📰
[p]
That’s it for today! As always, drop us a comment and let us know what you think about our fiery new friend, Ruby. Feel free to share your suggestions for the upcoming DLC as well. And if you haven’t already, add the RV Camp DLC to your wishlist to stay in the loop.

Until the next devlog! 👋[/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink]

P.S.: Check out what our buddies over at Garage Monkeys have been up to – they just dropped some new cars into Car Dealer Simulator! Looks like your virtual showroom might need a little expansion... 🚗💥 [/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink] ~Sewek [/p]

Physics & Popularity Balance Update
New & Improved: 🔧
Balance for Custom Gas Prices: The Custom Gas Prices balance patch fixes gameplay issues where fuel prices led to overly reduced traffic in the early game. Traffic behavior is now more balanced, making the system feel more fair at the beginning of the game. We’ve also made a few UI improvements for clarity and ease of use when managing prices and traffic.
Setting a New Fuel Price should close/open fuel pumps to reset the Traffic
Small changes to the questline in the early game.
Added NPCs to the Tidal Wave Volcano cinematic even if Traffic is very low.

Physics Crash Update: We’ve fixed a critical physics issue that was causing most of the crashes, especially during high-traffic or object-heavy situations. This particular crash has accounted for about 75% total crashes since the release of the game, so we expect the crash frequency for people who had this particular issue to be reduced significantly.

Other:
Customers will now generate shopping lists based only on the shelf types currently placed in the shop, ensuring they always have something to buy.
Bug Fixes: 🐛
• Fixed a bug where the Change Fuel Price objective would repeatedly appear after save/load.
 • Fixed a bug where Streamer Mode did not affect Drive-In Cinema films.
 • Fixed a bug where popularity traffic impact points were not functioning properly in the Custom Gas Prices system.
 • Fixed a bug where players could repeatedly sell a barrel from a landmark as an exploit.
 • Fixed a bug where hanging a painting could block game progression.
 • Fixed a bug where sandpiles failed to stop cars in front of them.
 • Fixed various localization issues.
 • Fixed a bug in the Chinese localization of the Cinema Ticked mini game, where the time of the movie was missing.
 • Fixed a bug where cars could still struggle to exit the parking lot.
 • Fixed a bug where the “Car Management” UI could be accessed while in the basic inventory.
 • Fixed a bug where a redundant square plane would appear near the Drive-In Cinema parking when the cinema was closed.
 • Fixed a bug where price board shaders appeared incorrect when viewed from the back.
 • Fixed a bug where Tidal Wave customers could become stuck in the shower area.
 • Fixed a bug where loading a save with a popularity level of 22 would apply a negative popularity factor.
 • Fixed a bug where the Party Spot tutorial pop-up could not be closed on first appearance.
 • Fixed a bug where the [Esc] key would not exit the Fuel Price Board UI.
 • Fixed a bug where Joe could get stuck in the desert sand.
 • Fixed a bug where the automatic chemical bath was usable without having unlocked the required upgrade.
 • Fixed a bug where closing the Fuel Price Board UI would not automatically close the tutorial overlay.
 • Fixed a bug where the Fuel Price Board tutorial used an outdated image.
 • Fixed a bug where the Traffic Meter tutorial in the base game included an outdated image.
 • Fixed a bug where the Traffic Meter tutorial image was missing in the Tidal Wave UI.
 • Fixed a bug where the Traffic tutorial did not disappear after interacting with the Fuel Price Board in Tidal Wave.
 • Fixed a bug where a gamepad binding glyph appeared in the Junkyard Contracts UI while playing with mouse and keyboard.
 • Fixed a bug where you could rebind Airbrush Decal Picker and Wrench D-pad buttons and break them.
 • Fixed a bug in Junkyard Objective 2 where the dollar amount lent to Sean was not displayed in the popup UI.
 • Fixed a bug where the Contracts UI in the Junkyard was missing reward amounts in dollars.

Booking, Guests, and Events – RV Camp DLC development update #1🔥

Hey, Gas Jockeys! ⛽

The past couple of days have been a hell of a ride for us – not only did we release long-awaited controller support along with the dynamic fuel prices update for Gas Station Simulator, but we also hosted our own Franchise Sale, where we finally announced a brand-new expansion for Gas Station Simulator. And that’s gonna be the main topic of today’s development update. If you somehow missed the initial announcement, feel free to check out the Steam page for some further information regarding the DLC.

Now, today we’ll delve into some essential information – we’ll be talking about your potential guests (and their needs, and trust me – they can be very picky), how the whole booking system works within the game, and possible events you might encounter (it wouldn’t be a proper DLC without those, right?). So, hop in, fasten your seatbelt, and let’s ride! 🔥
Booking 📅
Let’s start from the very beginning. So far, every single DLC that we’ve released for Gas Station Sim has a go-to structure that contains all of the necessary details you need to know if you want to ensure proper functioning of your business. For the Car Junkyard DLC we have a board, for instance. With the RV Camp DLC, the situation is gonna be basically the same, but instead of a board, you’ll spend a huge chunk of your time going through the Guest Book (code name for now, might be changed in the future).

Now, within the Guest Book, you will find all of the necessary details. This includes information about your guests (more on that below), available parking spots, campers waiting in the queue, and most importantly, a check-in option.

Please keep in mind that the image above is still work-in-progress and does not showcase the actual footage that will be coming to the game.
Guests 🧑
Guests are the equivalent of customers who stop by your gas station. However, every single guest has a certain set of services that you will need to complete to increase their wellness level, which, to put it simply – will result in higher income.

Now, you might be wondering what kind of services you will have to provide. While that’s a pretty damn good question and ideally the topic for a whole new devlog, I can’t stop myself from giving you some spoilers. So, let’s say these services might include doing the laundry, setting up the SPA, or serving some juicy sausages right from the barbecue. But we’re more than open to your suggestions, so let us know in the comments what you think about these services and if you have any ideas, feel free to share them with us as well.
Events 🎙️
As I wrote at the beginning of this announcement – you wouldn’t call it a proper DLC without some DLC-related events. And that’s where the bad news comes into play, because you might expect the return of a real pain in the butt. Yes – I’m talking about Dennis. The disturbing kiddo doesn’t give up that easily, and in the RV Camp DLC, he will do whatever it takes to make your guests’ lives miserable. Let’s see below what he has in store this time 👇

Just like the above – this is only to showcase you heavy work-in-progress stuff, so you can better understand and visualize the whole feature.
WDC World Ocean Day Charity Sale 🐬
We are excited to announce that we are supporting WDC, Whale and Dolphin Conservation, for World Ocean Day!

The WDC World Ocean Day Sale starts today and runs until 12th June, 10am PDT 2025, and you can save a fin-tastic 45% off Gas Station Simulator. We will also donate 10% of our net profits to WDC to support their conservation work.
How your support will help this year 🤔
By purchasing games from this year’s World Ocean Day sale, you will help WDC continue their global conservation work, as well as their ghost gear removal project, funding 10 missions for divers to remove lethal entanglement hazards to marine life (and scuba divers) from reefs, seabeds, and shipwrecks in UK seas.

Whales and dolphins are awe-inspiring, intelligent beings. The ocean produces more oxygen and absorbs more carbon than all of Earth's forests combined, and whales help it flourish. Yet 300,000 whales die in fishing gear every year.
Stay up-to-date 📰
Unfortunately, every great thing must come to an end! As always, feel free to share your feedback with us in the comments down below. You can expect the next development update for RV Camp DLC by the end of this month, where we’ll dive into the story aspect of the DLC as well as the main character – Ruby. Don’t forget to wishlist the DLC if you want to stay in the loop of everything RV Camp DLC, and until then, enjoy your day and weekend ahead and we will hear from each other by the end of June.
