The Ground Rules - New Update, v0.90.190



Hey engineers!

We're continuing to making the final preparations for our grand v1.0 release! In this update, we've added a bunch of neew sounds and the long-awaited improvements of terrain visuals!

[h2]v0.90.190 Released![/h2]
  • Improved tile junctions' look
  • Improved terrain look
  • Added shadows for hills
  • Improved animation of the Catopia Ark engines
  • Added sounds for the Catopia Ark
  • Added ambient sounds for Zeppelins
  • Added sound for Dynamite explosion
  • Added sound for passing over trees while riding a Hoverboard
  • Added sound for hovering mouse pointer over an active element
  • Improved feedback upon interacting with soil, water, and lava
  • Increased time interval between new cats appearing and new items being requested at the early stages of the game (suggested by Cyber)
  • After researching the Smart Cat Store, a new quest emerges, with some Dynamite as a reward - to provide an option for terraforming at earlier stages of the game
  • UI/UX fixes
  • Improved adaptive interface
  • Improved tutorials
  • Copywriting fixes
  • Big update for Chinese copywriting
  • Improved tooltips
  • Performance optimization
  • Game engine version updated

We have received bug reeports from the players Nameless and el stefano but the text of their messages got lost due to technical issues. If you're reading this and the bug(s) in question is still there, kindly send us a report again.

This is not a drill: a hotfix has been released, with somy juicy bug fixes inside (kindly pointed out by S'Kleer).

The great tidying up - New Update, v0.90.189



Hey engineers, in this update we continue to make Learning Factory shinier, and even more colorful (see below). That concerns both the overall game look and the UI/UX:

  • Improved biomes' visuals
  • Improved visuals for connections between different biomes
  • 2 new colors for Zeppelins
  • Machine learning optimized (but more complicated models will be learning longer)
  • Added an option to remove map pins upon picking up the entire factory

-mike A: The progress required for upgrades is counted for arciving items, not for producing Archivers themselves.

We have some bug fixes (kudos to S'Kleer for reporting), so don't forget to update to enjoy the most polished experience in Learning Factory, as of today! Happy factory building.

This update brings even more overall polishing, but most importantly: all buildings in the game that were supposed to have animations now have them! These machines were working all the time but now you can see all of them in action - another big step towards the upcoming v1.0 release:

Если действительно нет, было бы очень здорово, если бы она появилась.Спасибо за чудесную игру. " (Translated: "Hello. Either I couldn’t find the Blueprint scheme mirroring, or it doesn’t exist. If it really doesn’t exist, it would be great if it were added.")
A: Alas, we can't make it happen. We've been experimenting with it, but certain buildings can't be mirrored due to art limitations, and making twice as much art for the sole purpose of enabling building reflection would be too much time-consuming. This is something we should have considered at the very early stages of game development, which we haven't, unfortunately. We might consider adding it after the v1.0 release though.
