Never Been a Better Time to Adventure with Friends in the Wasteland.

[p]Earlier this month, we celebrated the Appalachian Wasteland turning seven years old. With another birthday in the books, we’ve taken the time to reflect on this journey through the Wasteland we have been on together. [/p][p]Since launch there have been 62 major patches, with 23 of those being content updates. Adding new life, gameplay experiences, and a lot (LOT) more to the game. For many of us, it still feels like we just launched the Wastelanders update that turned the game into what it is today.  [/p][p][/p][p]When we look at the timeline for all the Fallout 76 updates, we see the progression of the story of your Appalachia. With each update working as chapters in the story.  [/p][p]2018 [/p][p]You left the Vault, woke up in your bed and walked outside to see that everyone was gone.  [/p][p]2020 [/p][p]Wastelanders brought human NPCs back to the world and you began resettling and rebuilding the region. Members of the Foundation and Raiders being drawn to the area was an encouraging sign that your efforts were not in vain.  [/p][p]In the fall of 2020, the Brotherhood of Steel came to West Virginia with a story arc that concluded with Steel Reign. [/p][p]2022  [/p][p]In 2022, players received the call to help settlements beyond the rolling hills of West Virigina and travel to The Pitt in 76’s first off-map expedition mission, and then a year later players to a trip to Atlantic City. [/p][p]2024 [/p][p]In the summer of 2024, our Appalachian map mutated for the first time and a whole new region to the South opened up, Skyline Valley. You met a brand-new faction of Ghouls called The Lost. Then the entrance to a Project Vulcan facility blew open, making way from Gleaming Depths in the Winter. A late game raid experience for the highest-level adventurers who could earn 4-Star Legendary gear for the first time.  [/p][p]2025 [/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]2025 has been another huge year for Appalachia, with excessive radiation exposure allowing players to transform their character into a Ghoul, cozy fishing in the watering holes around the map, and even a total overhaul of the C.A.M.P. Workshop UI, freeing players from previous restrictions on building their C.A.M.P.s. [/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]That’s not all, because in about a week’s time the map is expanding to the West! Burning Springs not only provides a new region and questline for all players to experience but also introduces The Ghoul (yes THAT Ghoul) from the Fallout on Prime TV Series, voiced by Walton Goggins himself as the bounty provider for our new Bounty Hunting System. [/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]All this content has been lovingly created and delivered to all Fallout 76 players for free.  [/p][p]We have a lot more in store for 2026 as well! With performance improvements and more content on the horizon, it won’t be long before you hear about what’s next for the game. [/p][p]We hope you enjoyed this trip down memory lane and that you consider Fallout 76 for this year’s Steam Labor of Love award.  [/p][p][/p][p][/p]
