Peaceful Days Progression (May 2024 Report)

Hi,

I just want to announce that I'm still working hard on the game. My game dev lifestyle has been so bad that I had to spend a few weeks in the hospital. But I came back stronger and healthier than ever before.

I have officially switched to using Godot as the main engine. I'm also learning while remaking the game, so it will take longer, but I think it will be much better in the long run. I have implemented a lot of core features and revamped the main story. All we need now is a playable demo, which I'm focusing on.

Here is a screenshot of the latest build:

I will let you know more next time. Thank you for your patience!

Current state of the development.

Hello, it's me, the dev of Peaceful Days.
I'm truly sorry for have been disappearing for a long while since I last announced the state of project. The past year, I've been struggled between continuing my solo game dev dream and trying to earn enough money through freelance work for surviving and for a big comeback later. I appreciated all the support I got from all of you these past years. The ideas I got from you guys will be saved for improvement, so don't worry.
I'm sorry again, I am just a little man who has big dream but all of suddenly has to carry a lot on my back.
I hope you guys will understand my situation and know how passionate I am when I first released Peaceful Days 4 years ago. and I never stopped the development entirely. The progress is slow but I'm enjoying everything that I learned to make Peaceful Days better.
Hope you all have a great day!

Peaceful Days is still alive!

Hi, it's me again. Long time no see!
I'm on my final week at my company. Will be back to work on Peaceful Days full-time on March 16th.
Again, I'm sorry again for no update to the game. I have been working hard for 2 years to earn enough to continue my indie game dev dream. The dream where I could deliver a game that I could be proud of. It might not be the best, but I've put so much into it.
I've learnt a lot since my 2 years at Ubisoft. So I'm looking forward to apply my new knowledge to the game.

Thanks again for still supporting the game,
Nhat

Small Update (Mar 24th)

It's me again, it's time for weekly update. Important QoL changes for this update:
  • You can now upgrade your bag to 40 slots.
  • I added a special bag called "Tool Bag" which you can send your tool to it by pressing "T" by default.
This is essential for newcomer because item slots are limited at the beginning of the game. You don't have to run around the Storage to exchange tools.
  • You can now remove fish trap when you accidentally place it somewhere you don't want.
  • I knew the fishing mechanic is hard for some people so I just added an option to turn it off. Please look into the settings.
  • Sickle can also use to clear out immature crops.
  • Fixed a bug that made your pet spawn at black spots of your house.
  • Fixed craft & cooking material/ingredient consumtion bugs. (It won't take more material/ingredient to make multiple item)
  • Fixed help window in shop somtimes show empty info.
  • Speed up gameplay on 30 FPS locked computers. (Experimentally)

Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day!

Small Update (Mar 18th)

Hi everyone, hope you guys will have wonderful weekends. Just have some free time to revisit Peaceful Days to fix bugs and add QoL update.
  • Player can cook multiple meals in the kitchen now.
  • Increase the total life span of barn animal to 2.5 years. (This will help you maximize animal heart levels to collect better products before it's getting old and die.)

Gonna add more small updates like this in the future. Looking forward to hearing more feedbacks in the future.
