STATE OF EUDROS #5 – Next Steps & Survey!

Welcome to our new appointment with the State of Eudros, our summary with the latest news from the world of The Bloodline and glimpses of what's cooking! 🥘

[h2]IN THE LAST MONTHS... [/h2]

It's been a while since our last State of Eudros, but updates have certainly not been lacking. In the past 3 months, we have released 3 updates and 3 hotfixes, which have fixed multiple bugs, added features such as keybinding and the new village decorating system, and introduced a lot of new content, including an entirely new kingdom: Askil!

During these months, we have read all your feedback and suggestions, taken notes, and helped Miles compile a list based on your requests to assist him in planning the work for the upcoming updates, one of which - as you can imagine - is just around the corner.



[h2]THIS WASN'T HERE BEFORE... [/h2]

The focus of the next update will be fixing the bugs you reported and to start doing what you have been loudly requesting: fill and improve the kingdom of Elderheim.

For this reason, you will find Parford Lake has been expanded and filled in! For the Kingdom of Askil, the Flowing Sands and the Pillars of Misrafal have also been filled in with the addition of new caves, dungeons, points of interest, puzzles, vendors, and much more.

These areas have been revisited to be populated with loot, rewards, enemy spawns, and much more, such as village decorations contained in "decor books" hidden throughout the world, hidden skill points, weapons, and armor. The goal going forward is to do the same with nearly ALL Kingdom 1 locations, bringing the new systems, improvements, puzzles and other features introduced (or refined) in Kingdom 2 to the original kingdom of Elderheim.

Additionally, Miles has worked on some quality-of-life improvements, such as adding a brightness (gamma) slider, saving the player's location, and adding new "Cook Books" to reveal recipes!



[h2]WE NEED YOU! [/h2]

To best help Miles plan the next steps leading up to the future release of version 1.0, we have created a survey with some questions that will help us rank your requests, as well as gather additional valuable feedback and opinions.

The survey will take no more than a few minutes to complete, and you will have the opportunity to let us know which areas you would like us to focus on more, as well as to express your level of satisfaction with the current game features.

There is no need to emphasize again how essential your contribution is during this Early Access phase to chart the path for future updates, so we hope many of you will participate ❤️

Update | Bug Fixing, Optimization & Additions

A new update is available now to improve your journey in Eudros!

Bug fixing, optimizations, adjustments, and new content - such as new quests and a preview of the new village decorating system - await you in the lands of Elderheim and Askil! ⚔️

[h2]ADDITIONS [/h2]
  • Added new quest: The Angler’s Revenge – THE FLOWING SANDS (Shack on Sungrub Island)
  • Added new quest: The Shrine of the Luminary (Can be picked up in the Library of Turacca)
  • You can now fish at the Flowing Sands, where 5 new special fish await you! (You need a Sand Fishing Rod to fish at these spots, received via the Angler’s Revenge questline)
  • Added “Favorite Mount” button (Default key binding is ‘V’)
    To make a mount your favorite, open your mount selection window and click the yellow flag with the crown. With a favorite mount selected, you can press ‘V’ in game to quick-summon that mount
  • Added new thumbnails for various weapons
  • Added new thumbnails for mounts
  • Added new heavy attack for Ultraswords
  • Added new White Direwolf mount to the Woodhurst wolf merchant
  • Added quest marker to Besslyn in Al’Mayya
  • Added quest marker to Ali in Muscan
  • Added quest marker to Parisa in Al’Thumralah
  • Added quest marker to the final stage of The Flames in the Sand questline
  • I've included a preview of the new village decorating system in this build! It's not complete, but I wanted players to access it now so I can gain feedback and improve the system before its full implementation.

[h2]BUG FIXES [/h2]
  • Enchantments should now work properly. You MIGHT need to return to the location to unlock the enchantment book again, but I tried to make it so you don’t have to do so!
  • Fixed General Store rotation
  • Removed debug cube from Tornado skill
  • Blazing Trail now properly consumes mana
  • Fixed T-Posing Finfolk
  • Fixed various black weapon/armor thumbnails
  • Fixed issue with certain overworld events spawning in the desert that shouldn’t spawn there
  • Adjusted player footstep sounds
  • Fixed issue with broomstick mount breaking mana regeneration
  • Fixed issue with Askil Rascal quest not progressing
  • Fixed issue with enchantments not properly unlocking on the enchantment table
  • Death’s Claw now grants Spirit Essence for killing enemies
  • Heavy attacks now grant the proper amount of weapon EXP
  • Heavy attacks now properly track quest progress and weapon kill progress
  • Fixed issue with companion dialogue popping up without and text
  • Veiled Slicers now absorb mana properly when attacking enemies
  • Fixed issue with guild and special vendor currencies not being reduced when purchasing items (Iuba, Tithes, Fragments of Iher, Coconuts, etc)
  • Fixed issue with beams from the light beam puzzles flickering
  • Fixed issue with final slab in the Shrine of the Luminary not progressing the quest.
  • Fixed issue with Sandstone Dagger item recipe
  • Fixed issue with the sun in Askil not draining stamina while mounted (other than when on an Askillian Scarab)
  • Fixed issue with double “Small Warhammer” in level 5 Weaponsmithing
  • Fixed collision issues with Askillian Waytowers
  • Level 10 Unarmed Passives can no longer be unlocked at level 5
  • Fixed issue with Warp Spire portals sometimes not appearing correctly
  • ALL Unarmed skills should now properly grant the EXP
  • Removed quest markers at scorched coast for quests that don’t take place in that location
  • Can no longer jump while in ragdoll mode
  • Undead Horde events should now work properly
  • Goblin Horde events should now work properly
  • Fixed birch tree color in Whitebrook Haven
  • Fixed issue with Shrine of the Luminary quest not progressing past the slab section
  • Fixed softlock for the “Strange Magic” questline if players left the Fal Fadir Oasis before speaking with the Askillian Captain
  • Fast Travelling Via Portal Coins should now update your overworld position correctly
  • Companions/friendly NPCs should no longer fall through the ground at the Pillars of Misrafal
  • Fixed issue with 10th slot of offhand spells not saving properly
  • Bijan should now appear in your companion tab after his dialogue discussing joining you
  • Fixed issue with 10 Bijans spawning when accepting his as a companion
  • Fixed Instant Reload animation for double barrel copper pistol
  • Fixed item duplication exploit when trading
  • The secret passageway that opens during the New Ralah questline should remain open when returning to the area
  • Fixed issue where grapple would constantly pull you towards the hook point under specific circumstances
  • Fixed issue where you could ragdoll in middle of the “Dropkick” skill, making your character fall through the ground
  • Fixed dead-end dialogue with Fae store owner
  • Fixed issue with female eyebrows not saving correctly
  • Fixed issue with shield skill tree passives not unlocking properly
  • Fixed issue with studded skirt appearing as a helmet for female characters
  • The Wizard Tower 100 mana buff should now only be granted when construction is complete
  • Fixed mismatched dialogue with the Living Flame
  • The Magic Carpet mount should now be unlocked properly (If you didn’t unlock it through the initial dialogue with the Living Flame, you can return to the Temple of Sand to claim the mount)

  • Reduced Aloe size
  • Increased price for arrows

  • You can no longer use the overworld button when in the Unknown Frontier
  • ESC now closes the Arena Settings window
  • Monk’s Cross (Unarmed Skill) now deals x25 unarmed damage when fully charged, x15 when partially charged
  • Increased the amount of EXP gained from various Unarmed Skills
  • You can no longer enter the first Warp Spire before speaking with the Askillian Captain first.
  • Added missing water to the Waterveil Grotto at the Fal Fadir Oasis
  • Updraft now has a cooldown and consumes mana
  • The Askillian Sun should now function in the Pillars of Misrafal
  • Closed segment in New Ralah cave that would give access to quest area before you should be able to access it
  • Can no longer ragdoll while using skills

  • Added Askillian Sun – A mechanic present in the new desert locations!
  • Added lockpicking
  • Added puzzles:
    - Music doors! Play the lute to open these doors
    - Weight Triggers! Place physics objects on the weight plate until it is fully pressed
    - Rotating Statues! Make the statues face a certain direction to complete the puzzle
    - Blocked/Locked doors. Blocked doors can only be opened from one side, creating more interesting locations that can only be accessed in certain ways. Doors also work as lockpicking doors.
    - Rune Wheels - Rotate the wheels so they are all pointing to the correct runes!
    - Windwheels – spin the wheel with constant damage to open doors! (The new Aeromancy spell “Billow” is a good choice with these puzzles!)
    - Lumistrike Crystals – Hit these crystals to activate them! Some are timed, requiring you to hit all of them before they deactivate.
    - Keywing Scarabs – Chase these scarabs to get them to unlock the doors associated with them!
    - Sun Mirrors – Stand near them and press the interact button to adjust the beam that the mirror creates!

A new hotfix patch is available now to address some of the latest issues you reported and improve your experience in the lands of Eudros!

[h2]BUGS FIXES/OPTIMIZATIONS[/h2]
  • Spear Charge now consumes stamina instead of mana
  • Fixed visual bug with the river in Elderglen Woods
  • Fixed dead-end dialogue with Morrim Gearbeard in Elderglen
  • Fixed issue with Autonomous Bot not following you after speaking with it
  • Removed duplicate level 10 1-handed skill from the skill tree
  • Fixed issue with promotion UI appearing every time you enter a location after reaching max rank in the Lionsmane guild
  • Fixed spelling error when picking up a Godsgift
  • Fixed issue where construction materials wouldn't be able to be allocated if they were in the first slot in your inventory

[h2]BUGS FIXES/OPTIMIZATIONS[/h2]
  • Fixed issue with Vampire skill tree not letting you unlock skills even if you're the proper Vampire level
  • Fixed issue with Lionsmane Battle always spawning in certain Grassy Plains maps
  • Added map for Hostile Logging Camp (No longer boots you to title screen upon entering)
  • Oak trees now drop the correct logs
  • Prophet's Spear now deals damage correctly
  • Fixed sleep UI not showing the correct name of the day you are on.
  • If you did not receive the Grimclaw companion upon donating all eggs, visit the Grimclaw Burrow again and interact with the basket. If the basket was somehow out of sync with the quest (as in, the quest is completed but the basket is missing eggs), interacting with the basket should give you the companion.
  • Hallowed Earth now consumes mana properly
  • Spear Charge now consumes stamina properly
  • Blood Leech now consumes mana properly
  • Mortar Arrow now works with any bow
  • Mortar Arrow now consumes stamina properly
  • Fixed skillbook tooltips (Text should no longer clip out of the tooltip box)
  • Can no longer lock weaponsmithing UI by clicking "Auto Craft" then clicking "Craft" quickly after
  • Auto craft now grants the proper amount of weaponsmithing EXP
  • Clicking during the weaponsmithing minigame no longer returns control to your character
  • Moonstone Ultrasword now crafts the proper weapon
  • Level 7 Weaponsmithing is no longer unlocked at level 6 (lol)
  • Optimized crafting (Specficially, when quickly clicking the craft button. A slight delay was added to the button after clicking it as well, to further help mitigate issues)
  • Major optimizations to most locations, especially the overworld
  • Optimized achievement screen
  • Fixed issue where items in the "Accessory" slot (ring icon slot) would be destroyed if a new item was equipped before unequipping the item first (for those of you who lost your woodcutting harness this way, type in "AddItem WoodcuttingHarness 1" to the console! (:
  • When using the Vampire skill "Feed", you should get an accurate update to the amount of time you have left until you are blood starved (No longer loops at 1 hour)
  • You should now be able to turn in 3 Goblin Shivs to Shmilmorf during the "Shivs for Shmilmorf" questline
  • Fixed issue where you could spam-click during harvesting to get a ton of mining/woodcutting EXP
  • Mushrooms now grant the proper amount of Foraging EXP
  • Removed old and broken berry bushes
  • Fixed issue with "Focused Shot" consuming 2 bullets at a time. If only 1 bullet is loaded, the amount would go negative, allowing you to fire semi-automatically (funny AND fun, but broken lol)
  • Fixed dead-end dialogue with Prawix if you tell him you don't have the staff he asks you to retrieve
  • Tania's dialogue changes after completing her quest "House Blend", preventing you from being able to accept the quest again
  • "Gilded Coffee" now cures diseases as intended
  • Fixed odd building placement in Elderglen (Upper building near the castle)
  • Fixed bug that wouldn't track when you created a Fletcher's Brew for the Fletcher's Brew questline
  • The Fletcher's Fowl tavernkeeper should now give you the recipe for the Fletcher's Brew. If you didn't get it when you started the quest, returning it to him will allow you to ask for the recipe (if the quest is still active)
  • Fixed issue where custom potions wouldn't show up when the "Potions" filter was selected in your inventory screen
  • Fixed issue that would place removed skills back in the slot you removed them from
  • Fixed issue with shields unequipping themselves when entering the overworld with a spear and shield equipped
  • Set a limit of 60 FPS inside menu pages.
  • Now Unhook doesn't activate Hide mode anymore.
  • Users are now able to bind the 'Throw' action.
  • Fixed some overflowing text inside the building construction interface.

[h2]BALANCES/ADJUSTMENTS[/h2]
  • The game now saves after collecting an Aegis Egg to prevent quest/event misalignment
  • Added missing quest trackers to overworld areas
  • Increased drop rate of Goblin Shivs from Stitch Snitch Goblins by 20%
  • Removed "Feed" skill from the Vampire skill tree since it is an inherent skill of being a Vampire
  • Re-opened segment of Three Sister's Forest
  • Refined harvestable spawns at the Three Sisters Forest
  • For now, custom potions will no longer show up in the trade window. (Will be re-added when the issue with them not selling properly is resolved!)
  • Optimized foliage LODs and culling
  • Cleaning up overlapping meshes
