Hotfix Update v1.0.1

It's been an awesome launch, thanks everyone for your support! I finally got some sleep and now I've fixed a few issues that some folks ran into-

  • Fix for potential softlock where player could get stuck and couldn't move in Chapter 3 cemetery.
  • Fix for potential softlock in Chapter 6, waiting for a timed event.
  • Music/Sfx/Dialogue sliders now save/restore correctly.
  • Fix for dialog option not working with Sarah in Chapter 4.
  • Typo fix "bill" -> "Bill"

Thanks for those reporting bugs in the forums, and especially for going out of their way to help with sending save games for diagnosing the trickier ones.

The Drifter is Out Now!

[p]The Drifter is out! Check out the launch trailer below, but why bother, the game's out- go play it! :D[/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][p]Thanks to everyone who waited a long time for this, believe me I've been waiting longer :D We're really proud of the result, can't wait to hear what you all think![/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]The bangin' Original Soundtrack is also available, you can get an extra discount if you get it as a bundle. We put a bunch of work into making it an experience of its own to listen through- the game's brooding dark-synth soundtrack intercut with radio-play style interludes.[/p][p][/p][p]You can listen to the first track on the store page to get in the mood- [/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]It's been a long journey getting here, but I'm so excited to finally have it in people's hands. Let us know what you think in reviews, and hope you have fun.[/p][p][/p][p]-Dave[/p]

The Drifter review

The Drifter is sometimes quite silly in ways I don't think are intentional, and it managed to yank me right out of the experience more than once. You obviously have to be in a thing to get yanked out of it though, which is my way of saying that The Drifter is good, although I will be taking the piss out of it later. It's stylish, moody, and pulls off the point n' click adventure game two-for-one: characters worth caring about, and also characters worth irritating by fiddling with their stuff.

Mostly though, it's just got a great eye for an arresting scene or setpiece. Some of my favourite parts did end up being its more complex multi-scene puzzles, but mainly because these are used sparingly in a story with bloody-minded dedication to anxious forward momentum.
