Recent Server Issues
[p]We know our community experienced some server issues last week. Thank you to everyone who took the time to send in reports to us. To show our appreciation for your continued patience, everyone has been granted 1 Epic Apex Pack (please login within 2 weeks to claim it).[/p][p]We wanted to share a quick recap of the recent server outages and what we have learned from them.[/p][p]Two separate instances caused our servers to go down last week. One was due to rotating out Storm Point (due to persistent crashes for specific devices on that map) and replacing it with E-District. The initial swap ran into some issues, and then later on, as servers continued to try to incorrectly search for games on Storm Point, it caused players to no longer be able to get into games. We’ve now implemented a new internal process to avoid this mismatch in the future. [/p][p]The other cause of servers going down was due to a prior fix for some performance monitoring systems that incorrectly handled how invalid data was processed. The fix was rolled back, which solved the issues, and we’ll be targeting another fix further down the road. [/p][p]Ensuring the best possible experience in Apex Legends is a priority for us. We will continue to keep you updated as we continue our investigations and make further improvements.[/p]
