Apex Legends Mirage buff gives bamboozles more "competitive viability"

A new Apex Legends Mirage buff is arriving in the imminent Season 16, with a core focus of making one of the battle royale's most situational legends a bit more useful and viable as part of Respawn's big meta shakeup.

Of course, most of this shakeup will happen by way of the long-overdue Apex Legends classes rework which properly divides the roster of legends into groups which have useful shared perks. However, another aspect is that seven specific legends are getting some tweaks to their kits, and Mirage is one of them.

"He is getting some unironic buffs this season in order to give him some more team utility and overall competitive viability," says lead legend designer Devan McGuire in a preview event for Season 16.

Apex Legends Season 16 will hit scan-happy Seer with massive nerf

The upcoming Apex Legends Revelry update is going to be a big one for fans of Respawn Entertainment's battle royale shooter. Not only is the Apex Legends Ranked map rotation getting a refresher, but Apex Legends' classes are being improved. If you're worried about the infamous scan meta, going into Season 16, you'll also be pleased to know that Apex Legends' latest update is going to hit Seer hard with a nerf that should deal with that.

Discussing the changes being introduced to Seer through Apex Legends' Season 16 update at a top level during a pre-release preview event, Apex Legends' lead legend designer Devan McGuire revealed that Respawn Entertainment is essentially "reducing the frequency of his ultimate by hitting the cooldown and duration pretty hard".

However, the Season 16 update is also going to introduce some limiting changes to Seer's Heart Seeker passive - which is effectively an improved version of a Call of Duty game's Heartbeat Sensor, when you consider how it operates at the moment. The first, and arguably most important change being introduced is that, going forwards "you will no longer be able to spam its activation", as explained by McGuire.

Apex Legends Season 16 is nerfing Horizon for real this time

Respawn Entertainment's next major Apex Legends update is almost upon us and there's a lot to unpack when it comes to the legend meta. However, one change you may have been expecting is Apex Legends' Season 16 Horizon nerf - of which, a part of was accidentally introduced in the latter half of Season 15. We all know how this impacted Apex Legends' Horizon pick rate when it was accidentally introduced, and now it looks like we could see an even more drastic downturn as this alteration itself is fully implemented.

While we don't have full access to the latest set of Apex Legends patch notes just yet, we do know what to expect from the Revelry update as Horizon mains. As explained by Devan McGuire, Apex Legends' lead legend designer, during a pre-season preview event, Respawn Entertainment is going to "bring Horizon back down to Earth" by reducing accuracy in her Gravity Lift.

This is something we knew about already, but it remains to be seen just how impactful this update will be - as there's no telling whether the nerf we saw briefly last season will be identical to the one we see in Season 16.
