This sneaky Apex Legends change is driving FPS' players up the wall

Now, we know Respawn Entertainment's battle royale Apex Legends isn't perfect, but the FPS' developer is constantly tweaking this shooter and - with any luck - making changes that improve the experience. When it comes to this game's core gameplay mechanics, Respawn's changes are usually welcome; just take a look at Apex Legends' classes now. However, this isn't always the case - and one recent change is driving this FPS' players up the wall.

What recent change are we even talking about? Well, it's not one that you may have even noticed since the Sun Squad Collection Event update. So, while we know Apex Legends smuggled in a vital Ash buff in that last title update, it's not that. No, we're talking about the change that has flipped 'Remove' and 'Transfer' in your backpack.

In Apex Legends, if you're looking to free up a weapon slot in your inventory - or quickly move an optic attachment from one weapon to the over - you can choose to either 'Remove' something (which drops it) or 'Transfer' something (that moves it from one slot to the other, or back into your backpack). We know this isn't the most important game mechanic, but it's still an important one - and something you could get yourself killed with if you don't know your inputs.

Apex Legends' Season 17 teasers double down on Rumble LTM leaks

The next seasonal Apex Legends update from Respawn Entertainment is on the way, as it always is, and there's going to be quite a bit to look forward to - if you're a fan of chaos and destruction, that is. In February 2023, we talked about this Apex Legends Season 17 LTM leak and how it was going to remove one of the most unique things about this battle royale experience - the legends' abilities. Now, in March 2023, we're here to report that it looks like this wasn't a pipe dream conjured by an Apex Legends fan looking to turn this FPS upside-down. No, it looks like Rumble is going to be a real mode that Apex Legends players can jump into when Season 17 drops.

Before we continue, we just want to make it clear that this is still an unannounced game mode - and things are subject to change. However, the sources reaffirming the existence of this LTM and it's introduction in Season 17 are rarely wrong. We don't know if it's going to drop at the start of Apex Legends Season 17 or in a mid-season update, but it certainly looks like it's coming.

How do we know this, though? Well, notable Apex Legends leaker Thordan Smash has doubled-down on claims that the Rumble LTM is coming to Apex Legends Season 17 via Insider Gaming and shared a number of images of magazine covers players can find scattered about on Apex Legends' maps.

Apex Legends datamine teases interesting detail about leaked Ballistic

If you're an attentive Apex Legends fan, you'll know that there's a new leak - or some new data mined information - to talk about almost every day. And, when there isn't a new Apex Legends leak to talk about, there's a new theory about this battle royale's future to discuss - you know, to fill the time. Of course, a lot of this is interesting conversation. However, quite a lot of it can be bogus - to put it politely. Thankfully, though, we have some hard evidence to talk about and it's quite a bit more exciting than finding out that Octane is getting another legendary skin in the next Collection Event (as an example). A new batch of data mined Apex Legends voice lines are teasing some interesting information about Ballistic - a future participant of the Apex Games and quite possibly this battle royale's next new character.

As you may already know, if you're someone who keeps on top of the latest Apex Legends leaks, there has been quite a bit of discussion over the last few months of whether this mysterious Ballistic character is Kuben Blisk - the founder of the Apex Games and . The characters do share some resemblence, looking at what limited information we have about them both, and they're both rumoured to be Assault legends. However, beyond that, there hasn't been anything to say that they're not entirely different people - even if we all know that a character's abilities are always subject to change prior to release.

Well, that is, until now. As you'll be able to see below, this new Apex Legends voice lines leak seem to suggest that Ballistic is the child of a revered and famous figure in the Apex Legends universe. And, of course, we think that this figure is Kuben Blisk himself.

Wait for Apex Legends' Horizon heirloom item may finally be ending

We know the last few months have been quite... tumultuous for Apex Legends' Horizon fans, what with nerfs seemingly consistent features in seasonal updates, but you'll be pleased to know that it looks like there's some good news on the way. Following the implementation of the Sun Squad Collection Event, data miners have found evidence to suggest that the long-awaited Horizon heirloom item is finally on the way and coming to Apex Legends in the next Collection Event - after the Veiled Collection Event, that is.

We know that sounds like good news, but what evidence is there? We're not just here to get your hopes up, are we? Well, while we do want to get your hopes up, renowned Apex Legends leaker 'KralRindo' has shared online that a number of new Horizon animations have been added to the battle royale in the latest update - and this all points towards an heirloom item.

As you will be able to see for yourself below, there's supposedly a new Horizon banner pose, new movement animations, and new melee animations.

Sun’s out? Guns out in the Sun Squad Collection event featuring a brand new limited-time mode that turns up the heat on Battle Royale, 24 limited-time cosmetics including Legendary skins for Fuse, Mirage, and more, and the debut of Ash’s “Strongest Link” Heirloom.
NEW LIMITED-TIME MODE: HEATWAVE
HEATWAVE is a new limited-time mode that turns up the heat on the Apex Games. All the usual rules of Trio’s apply, but you’ll want to look out for Heatwaves that periodically happen throughout the match. When the heats on, you’ll need to avoid taking damage from the sun by taking cover indoors or under objects. If you’re caught out in the open, only sliding cools you down if you want to avoid Heatwave damage on the move. Lastly, Heatshields have increased in size and protect you in a large area from the sun for those moments when you’re caught outdoors and need to beat the heat quickly. Take care when using Heatshields though, they will be destroyed quickly when deployed outside the Ring.

Keep an eye out for Care Packages. Perhaps there lies another way to mitigate the effects of the sun and look cool while doing it. But you’ll need to jump into the mode on March 28th to find out more.
