Patch 4.02: Steam achievements are live!
Hello everyone
Due to popular demand we've integrated Steam achievements into Cockwork Industries Complete!
They are based on in-game Secret Archives achievements, so if you unlocked any Secret Archives rewards you can click "Sync with Steam" button on the game's title screen and synchronization will start.
With this update, we've also added several quality of life improvements to the game (details at the bottom of the page).
Why synchronize achievements manually?
This is because of two reasons:
1. We want to give the opportunity to maintain discretion for those players who don't want to have their Cockwork Industries achievements visible to their Steam friends, which was our initial reasoning behind not including Steam achievements at all in the first place. Thankfully, thanks to manual sync, we can have the best of both worlds.
2. It's the easiest way to provide the ability to add achievements retrospectively for those players who already unlocked some or even all in-game achievements. One click of the button and you're fully synced!
Why is there no description for any of the Steam achievements?
Steam requires to have achievement descriptions be suitable for all ages. Some of our achievement descriptions don't meet that criteria. If you wish to see how you can unlock each achievement, start the game and open the Secret Archives menu - all descriptions are available there are achievement names perfectly match those available in Steam.
What’s next?
Although we’re already hard at work on new games, we’re not yet completely done with Cockwork Industries. Apart from bug fixes (if necessary) we plan to keep adding small, free cosmetic updates over the coming months so you can keep enjoying the game a little bit more!
Enjoy your 40 brand new and shiny Steam achievements :-) !
