The game now uses peer-to-peer networking

[p]The game switched to a peer-to-peer networking model. Before this change, matches were hosted on US servers and ping kinda sucked outside the US.[/p][p][/p][p]We went from WebSockets to WebRTC: the room creator hosts and everyone else connects directly to them. This benefits all players: you'll get smoother games with players near you.[/p][p][/p][p]And yeah, since I'm not paying for servers anymore, MouseWars will stay free forever :D[/p][p][/p][p]The only disadvantage is that room discovery is no longer available, so you have to share a link or room code with your friends, but I believe we can use our Discord for matchmaking.[/p][p][/p][p]Have fun! 🐭🔫[/p]

Gamepad support added!

We've added gamepad support!

Now, if you have no extra USB mouse, you can play the game simulating a mouse with a standard gamepad and still enjoy the game with your friends.

This also enables new ways to play the game, like sitting on the couch and watching it in a big TV.

Going to free-to-play in 2021

Going to free-to-play in 2021

Starting from 2021, MouseWars Party will switch to a free-to-play model, because we think it'll fit better for keeping the game online in the long term. Currently, there are high server costs that we can't cover due to low sales, so the product needs some updates to make it scalable. We may add a few micro-transactions in a future update, only inside online mode. Party mode (offline) will continue working as always.

Thanks to all the people who supported the game!

Offline bots support added!

We've added offline bots support, so now you can enjoy the full game no matter how far you live from the official servers.

That also enables you to play some really fun local multiplayer matches with your friends, playing all against a whole team of bots, or however you like!
