New creatures & exploration mode update

Hey there! We have a special treat for you today that we hope you're going to enjoy. This is the first entry of a development update series in which we would like to highlight some of the things that we are currently working on. Please tell us if you enjoy such condensed posts and let us know if you would like to know more about any of these topics!
Kuchiberashi
A newborn sacrificed by its parents, now acting as an ally for a more powerful entity. Constantly looking for something to eat. The creation itself has been inspired by different manifestations in the Japanese folklore but we decided to take a slightly different approach and create something unique for our game and setting.
Exploration mode
We've prototyped two separate control systems for wandering around in-game Japan.

One with direct control (using WSAD and a mouse):

Another one based on the "Hand of God" (point & click) type of controls:
Genkurō
We do realize that white foxes are special entities in the Japanese folklore and are usually associated with the kami Inari responsible for fertility, rice, tea and sake. However, our Genkurō is a spiritual guide that has more in common with the general concept of kitsune - an intelligent being with paranormal abilities. You can be sure that even though his role is not clear throughout the beginning of the story he's definitely going to surprise you more than once.
Kamaitachi
It's finally time to present another yōkai - you met Jorōgumo some time ago and you were even able to view parts of gameplay featuring this strange arachnid entity. Kamaitachi however is a yōkai tied to our protagonist Satoru. Based on Japanese folklore Kamaitachi is a weasel-like entity with blades growing out of its arms. Kamaitachi is swift, light and usually associated with wind. Therefore we chose to include some smoke and wind currents in the design as well to bring out its magical nature even more.
