Test 1.5.0.0a17... yes a17

[p]Attempt 17 proved fruitful and appears to be fairly stable. YouTube didn't seem to notice a thing. Or didn't care? This implementation doesn't break ToS so they should be happy. And it works under Linux! Which is more than I can say for the last one... MacOS still not cooperating, hopefully I'll be able to persuade them down the line.[/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]Overall very happy with result. Good viewing / listening experience.[/p][p]Additional note: FLAC, AAC, OGG and WAV all seem to be cooperating now as well. AAC only seems to want to behave in M4A format or something like that... Damn it how in the world do I see my commits in github? Oh wait I can see them in VSCode... Yes in M4A format. Hopefully that's a widely-used one? IDK...

Anyway... nearly there... just a week or two...

Hopefully the new menu will be less controversial than the old one. I HATE making menus. Such tedious work... They're like pulling teeth. "Oh you're two pixels off? Time to re-align every single button" bastard things...

1.4 - I was on a plane update

Dude I thought you were dead! I thought the game was dead! Where did you come from?

- I'm not dead, I'm just old and grumpy and burnt out by capitalism. Same as you, same as everybody else
- Vecter is not dead, it just needed some bug fixes and some cleaning. I went in and sorted some stuff out and it should work better. If it doesn't leave a comment or a review or something and I'll look at it if I have time.

But to be honest a big motivator was seeing this:

Which felt good. Followed by this:

Which felt bad. And I don't like feeling bad, which is probably what these people felt when they tried to play the game, and that sucked. So I did a:

And now hopefully things are better. At least they seem to be better from my testing.

I also made a Mac version of it. These days I own a Mac as my main computer so since I was doing that might as well make it for Mac OS too. I have to say it's become a lot easier to make things cross-platform since 2020 when Vecter came out.

People in the comments kindly pointed out that the leaderboards needed a scrub since there were entries on there that were clearly fake. Then again what do I know maybe getting 600 million score with only 119 minutes in-game is perfectly achievable when you're the owner of a time-machine.

So I spent some time to review scores & accounts of the top positions and purged BS entries until I got to more realistic-looking numbers. Hope it makes life a little better. Oh and if anyone knows how to prevent people from making fake entries on a programatic level LMK as I hate this sort of stuff.

Then again... imagine how empty your life has to be in order to actually spend your time injecting a fake score into a free videogame? Dang... Now I kinda feel sorry for them...

Anyway what was I doing? Oh yeah...

Here's a change log of what's in 1.4 (Technically this is 1.4.0.1)

- Mac OS Version so now Mac user can play too.
- Fixed crash / freeze of game that would happen every time you'd finish a run.
- Fixed occasional crash / freeze of game when trying to exit the game
- Upgraded the game engine to the latest version of unity (6.1.0) to improve compatibility with newer hardware
- Rewrote how the game communicates with steam leaderboards to improve performance and reliability
- Purged the main three leaderboards of top scores until I got to scores that looked more realistic for the time spent in-game.

I don't promise to make any future updates. I might, I might not, IDK life's complicated but at least it's playable right now as far as I can tell.

If there are any new / further issues LMK through a comment on here or a review or something and who knows, it might get fixed in the next two years lol.

1.3.0.10

- Fixed the resolution selector in the options menu not going all the way to max resolution
- Fixed the issue where if you opened the guid in the main menu using the keyboard (and not the mouse or controller) it wouldn’t let you close it. Unfortunately this has created a new problem where you have to press enter twice on the next action you want to do but it’s a less annoying problem.

1.3.0.9 - Minor Fixes

- There was a small stutter in-game every 10 seconds on lower-end machines. It has been rectified.
- The profile picture on track death markers was always on top of everything, this has been fixed
- The profile picture on track death markers would appear even when the UI was turned off. This is no longer the case
- The names on the track death markers would sometimes be bigger than the marker itself. The names have been restricted to 16 charecters.

Vecter 1.3 - The Forever Update

My commitment with Vecter always has been to create a small game, that would be capable of running on pretty much any PC, and offer it for FREE to anyone regardless of their gender, race, location, or wealth.

Over time however, various features within it have broken down due to, in no small part, my poor planning.

So I've gone ahead and given Vecter a bit of an overhaull. Some features have been removed, some new features have been added, but overall it's a more stable and smooth experience. For full details on what's happened I recommend watching this YouTube video I've so kindly put together for you all. Hope you like it!
