Revitaversary Art Contest

Hey there community, Ben here,

I am happy to announce that we are starting off our "Revitaversary" festivities with an art contest!
But not just any ol' art contest, one that might give you a chance to win an exclusive Revita Kid plush by "Makeship"! =D

In order to participate, all you have to do is make a piece of fanart themed around Revita, between today and the 21st of April and send it to us via the "Revitaversary-Art-Contest" channel in our Discord

We'll be selecting the winner during our Revitaversary festivities on the 21st, which is also when you'll be able to purchase Revita kid plushies during a limited Makeship campaign. (More info on that soon!)



Also on a smaller sidenote, just a few days ago we hit the 100k Steam units of Revita, many love to the community who brought us here and everyone who joined via humble. πŸ’™

Welcome new players and Dev Updates

Hey everyone, Ben here.

I wanna take a brief second to give a warm welcome to everyone who got the game through the Humble Choice bundle of April 2023, we are happy to have you be part of our community! πŸ’™
We also recommend immediatly switching to the Beta Branch once you start playing the game, it includes a lot of improvements, rebalancing, tweaks and even some new things, that are not in the default branch. =D

We are currently working on a massive, game changing 2.0 Update, which will overhaul a lot of aspects of the game and add a ton of new content to it as well. If you have any feedback/bug reports regarding the game you'd want us to address in 2.0 feel free to either put it in our Discord were I am probably the most active, or in the Steam Forums.
I can't promise that we can address everything, but we try to take everything into account. =D

On that note, I know I have been a bit quiet here on Steam when it comes to Dev Updates and that is because we are currently preparing a lot of cool stuff for this years "Revitaversary" which is gonna take place on the 21st of April. We got a bunch of really, really cool things to announce, especially regarding 2.0 so you really don't wanna miss it. I'll be posting more information regarding the event once we get a bit closer, so keep your eyes open.

And that is it for today. A bit shorter than usual, but I felt like these points were important to bring up, especially with the games playerbase now having almost doubled since the humble choice dropped yesterday. (Much love!)

Revita - 1.0.4 and Beta 2.0.0f Changelogs

Hey everyone,

We just released two small hotfix updates for the public and the beta branch. Both are aiming to fix some more annoying, remaining softlocks and major issues, while we are still working away at Revita 2.0 =D

As usual, if you encounter any more issues, tell us on our Discord or in the Steam bug thread. =D



(Public) 1.0.4:


  • QUALITY OF LIFE:

- Added local save file backups that are unaffected by the steam cloud
- Reinforced the save system overall to use backups in case a save gets eaten up by the cloud. (These files are updated each time you boot up a save file)


  • BUGFIXES:

- Fixed a game freeze, when fighting Regret with either the "Slimeball" relic or the "Hunter" sniper.
- Fixed an issue where the run seed would sometimes not work properly, leading to certain outcomes being more likely than others.
- Fixed an issue where "Mini Gestalt Slimeyes" wouldn't drop their attached prison key.
- Fixed a softlock when trying to exit the lucky well ui.
- Fixed a softlock when trying to enter an elevator from slightly below while flying.



(BETA) 2.0.0f:


  • QUALITY OF LIFE:

- Reinforced the save system overall to use backups in case a save gets eaten up by the cloud. (These files are updated each time you boot up a save file)


  • BUGFIXES:

- Fixed an issue where the relic "pacemaker" wouldn't drop, making it impossible to complete its journal entry.
- Fixed a game freeze, when fighting Regret with either the "Slimeball" relic or the "Hunter" sniper.
- Fixed a softlock when trying to enter an elevator from slightly below while flying.
- Fixed certain special rooms not appearing.
- Fixed a weird issue where a boss chest wouldn't spawn if you are airborn.
- The music track "Veneficium Mentis Phase 1" is obtainable at the fool again.

Dev Update | More Reworks and Additions

Hey everyone, Ben here,

It is that time again. Time for another dev update!

Yes 2.0 is not dead, quite the opposite! It is bigger and better than ever!
If you are following me on Twitter or are in our Discord you have probably already seen me post a lot of wip screenshots and gifs of upcoming additions, reworks, tweaks and all kinds of other stuff, but for those who haven't, I wanted to dive a little deeper into all things 2.0.

First off, while it is taking a lot longer than originally intended, 2.0 is progressing smoothly and is really turning into something worthy of the version number "2.0". With not "just" reworks and rebalances but also a ton of new content to boot. So I hope you can wait just a little longer as we are getting closer and closer to the finish line. Trust me, it will be worth it!


But lets get to the actual meat and potatoes, starting of with the reworked map system!



Not just did the map in the transition between rooms get a nice visual overhaul, it now also gives you a lot more information than previously. Aside from showing you which rooms are locked and need a key to be opened, it also shows you all the special rooms for an area even if you don't have the map relic.
The thought process here being, that this will allow for more strategy and planning during runs rather than just either using a key now or hoping that you maybe get a better locked room later on.


Shard Benefits:

Previously, roughly every 5 shard levels you got an additional benefit to your runs. It was always either an increase in relic rarity or the ability to equip an additional ticket for cheaper. However I always felt like that system was a little uninteresting and could have so much more potential, so 2.0 will reintroduce them as "Shard Benefits", giving you even more customizability in regards to how you want to start your runs!



There are a lot of them and they all give you different, minor benefits at the start of each run. Maybe you still want to start with cheaper tickets, or maybe you'd like to start a run with 3 keys instead? The choice is yours!


Dyes:

Speaking of choices and customizability, Revita kid sure looks different here!



2.0 will introduce a new unlockable called Dyes
These will allow you to customize your version of Revita Kid even further! Now you can not just change your hat, but also the colours of your outfit!



And they'll even show up on the reworked leaderboards!





Synergies:

Another big system that is getting reworked and also buffed a lot next update, are Synergies.

Not only does every relic belong to a synergy now instead of just a select few, but they also come in two levels, as well as being much stronger and more useful than previously!

The new Gunslinger synergy for example lets you shoot an additional bullet at 50% damage if you carry 3 relics that fit into its synergy and an additional bullet at 100% damage if you carry 5!



Have I mentionend yet that there will also be 25 new synergies, making it twice the amount of synergies than in 1.0?

As you can see, there is a ton of stuff happening with 2.0 and this is just the tip of the iceberg, there is so much more to it. So why not, to end things off, leave you with an additional screenshot and a gif.
