Demo Released!

Hi everyone!

We have exciting news today -- A Terra Invicta Demo, allowing you to play through the first 7 years of the campaign, is now available for download on the Steam page.

The Demo does have some limitations: you can only play as the Resistance, you won't be able to save/load, and some alien lore and stuff is removed to prevent spoilers as to the nature of the alien threat.

It's something of a soft launch; we're putting the demo out early in part to hear if anyone hits any major issues during play, so we can go in and fix them early in the demo period. We've tested and tested, but sometimes things slip through. Feel free to let us know how things are going!

In terms of release, we are delaying for a bit longer, but the game is still coming this year, and we think the demo will showcase how well the game has come together. But polish and balance are critical for a strategy game especially, so the dev team will be hard at work making sure Terra Invicta lives up to your expectations.

XCOM-inspired grand strategy game Terra Invicta has been delayed

We've been looking forward to sci-fi grand strategy game Terra Invicta ever since it was first announced, although things really came to a head earlier this year when we got to see it up close for the first time. It seems like we may have to wait a bit longer to actually get our hands on it, however, as publisher Hooded Horse has today announced that developer Pavonis Interactive's XCOM-inspired strategy game is being delayed into next year.

A statement from the company claims Terra Invicta is feature complete, but everyone wants to give it a couple more months to be polished and balanced. Recent updates to the game include a new set of 12 spaceship designs for the human factions, as well as alien megafaunas that can attack cities.

Pavonis Interactive was founded by the creator's of XCOM's infamous 'Long War' mods, the second iteration of which was developed in close collaboration with 2K and Firaxis ahead of XCOM 2's launch. Terra Invicta is the group's debut title, and has been in the works for four years. It had a successful Kickstarter campaign in late 2020, before getting signed by Hooded Horse earlier this year.

Terra Invicta delayed to Q2 2022

Terra Invicta is coming along great and in late beta testing, but we’ve made the decision to delay the release until Q2 2022.

All major features are in, but for strategy games especially, late-game balancing, AI work, and similar final tasks are critical to player enjoyment and have unpredictable time requirements. This delay will ensure there is no pressure to rush the game before it is fully ready, and we can take the time needed to ensure the game lives up to your expectations.

If you are interested in learning more and seeing some things we've been working on, we've got a delay announcement trailer showing a new set of human ships, as well as alien megafauna, to share:
