Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon and the Puzzler's Pack DLC have been a labor of love for the past 4 1/2 years, filled with dedication, joy, hard work, and a whole lotta meme-ing. Our goal was to create a captivating puzzle game that introduced a fresh experience into the gaming world, and with the Puzzler's Pack, there is a SO MUCH MORE FUN TO BE HAD! New Playable Characters:

Puzzle Knight - Everyone’s favorite puzzle prodigy is now a playable character! While on your run, you’ll be able to rotate surrounding foes clockwise to create convenient new combos!

Mona - The green queen of Alchemy can now embark on her very own Pocket Dungeon adventure! Utilize her awesome alchemist abilities by exploding nearby potions. Chain them to get more bang for your buck!

New Battles, Boons, and Bosses:
Keep your wits as sharp as your shovel, as new obstacles of all types await you in every level!

New Relics:

Chester has “found” a TON of new Relics to aid you in your quest! Make sure to take ‘em for a spin.

New Areas to Explore:

Hedge Farm - An earthy plot of land has appeared in the Pocket Dungeon! Ready that green thumb of yours, the wholesome Hedge Farmer needs some agricultural assistance!
Castle Quandary - Uncover a wealth of quests and content far above the Pocket Dungeon! Scale a colossal beanstalk to discover a confounding castle nestled in the clouds.

New Quests:
Castle Quandary offers unique quests for each character. Completing these Quandary Challenges (Legendary Path, Character Quest, Trial of Offerings, and Refract Realm) will unlock new costumes, abilities, and more!

Marathon Mode:

Battle endless waves of enemies in a desperate bid for survival! Enemy configurations will change between stages, but the battle never ends. How long can you last?

How resplendent! A well-tailored traveler has wandered into the Pocket Dungeon, replete with wares. Mr. Hat will provide you with various headpieces that modify your game in scores of wacky ways! There are TONS of run modifiers to purchase!

Mark your calendars, folks - our puzzle-tastic DLC arrives on June 6th! This thrilling new content in Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon will launch on Steam! The FREE DLC Pack is GIGANTIC! It includes new playable characters, formidable "Quandary Challenges," neat new Relics, robust run modifiers, and expansive new areas to explore! In true Yacht Club Games fashion, we’re releasing the pack completely FREE -- fans only need the base game to enjoy all the new content. This is just the first of three free DLC releases planned for the title, so there’s much much more to come.

Puzzler's Pack Free Update - EP.10.2 - “Wow, so much stuff!” Patch Out Now

Welcome, Puzzlers! So we hear that you want to delve even further into the Pocket Dungeon and explore the new Puzzler’s Pack DLC early! To access the Early Preview, you will need to switch to a special Steam Branch to access the content.

Friendly reminder! This is an Early Preview of our Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon Puzzler’s Pack DLC, we’re still in the process of ironing out a ton of new features and rolling out fixes! With that in mind, there is a possibility that you’ll run into bugs, crashes, and oddities that you wouldn’t normally encounter in a retail release. So, to avoid any potential mishaps, we recommend you back up your save files just in case! This Early Preview is currently limited to the Steam version of the game. Once the DLC has been polished and meets the quality bar that we’re happy with, we will bring the DLC to consoles. Thank you for your patience!

Updated Art and Sound Effects
  • Random Knight & Shuffle Knight
  • Most foes and hazards in Legendary Path have updated SFX
  • Tadvolts and Blue Floatsomes now do an electrified SFX if you are nearby.
  • If you are wearing any hats, they’ll collapse on defeat!!
  • And much, much more!
General Updates:
  • Bombs with a 3x3 range no longer cause flash.
  • Whatever is inside Scrap Knight’s bag at the end of a run now pops out at the results screen.
The Big Creep:
  • Now counts as undead (for Divine Liquid)
Present Hat:
  • Gives you a random free relic each stage, instead of giving you two choices.
  • Fixed - a relic is offered before entering the first stage.
  • Present Hat can now appear in the Trial of Offerings.
Haste Helm:
  • Moved faster turns indicator to the bottom-right corner. This also applies to the Legendary Path’s faster bosses
  • Slightly increased turn speed when pressing Turbo.
Legendary Foe Helm:
  • It now adds big foes from Legendary Path as well.
Memmec’s Kin Cap:
  • Increased chances of memmecs appearing within a stage to 60%. Chances are then lowered by 10% per memmec spawned.
Mining Helmet:
  • Now up to two keys and/or two chests can spawn inside blocks per stage now.
Legendary Path:
  • Adjusted chances of hazards, new foes, and big foes showing up each stage. All three cannot spawn all at once, and very rarely none will spawn.
  • Memmec chests have a 5% chance of appearing.
  • Relic prices are now rounded to the nearest multiple of 250. (This applies to Extravagant Gem Hat as well)
Needleorb Hat:
  • Adjusted spike setups.
Wall Hat:
  • One less row of units spawn during Scrap Knight’s boss fight.
  • In Clockwork toward and onward, the spawn rates were adjusted
Dozedrake:
  • Takes a couple of extra turns in between attacks.
  • Adjusted how bubbles are spewed.
Lampeeto:
  • Only one Lampeeto can spawn at a time on the board.
  • HP increased from 4 to 5.
Tadguard:
  • Protected units now stop chain damage.
Bomb Seed Bag:
  • Now has a VFX for resisting bomb damage.
Bohto Boater:
  • Extra meal tickets won’t appear in Glitzem’s sideroom or shrine rooms.
  • Extra meal tickets become more rare the more relics you have equipped, stopping at 24 relics.
Red Alert Beret:
During boss fights:
  • Increased the amount of green alert time.
  • Slightly decreased the amount of red alert time.

Donovan:
  • Caltrops now deal 2 damage against enemies, and 1 damage against bosses
  • Caltrops don’t chain when thrown.
Mona A:
  • When not wearing Turkey Torque, Turkeys explode in a 3x3 area for 3 damage.
  • Weak or expired potions now explode for only 1 damage.
Mona B:
  • Potions are thrown a bit faster.
Board Bombardment Quest:
  • You now start the quest with two Meal Tickets.
Tinker Knight A:
  • Mech will always have a minimum of 3HP.
  • Mech now uses Emote and Weak sprites from Tinker Knight’s Quandary Quest.
Toad Totem Topper:
  • In addition to a free Toad Totem, you start each level poisoned.
  • Poison acts every 8 turns instead of every 4. Attacking anything delays poison for 1 extra turn.
  • Gem penalty from poison kills removed.
  • Toad Totem Topper can now appear in Trial of Offerings.
Magnetic Morion:
  • Grapps don’t stick to other units.
  • Units don’t stick to walls in side rooms.
  • Crabstals don’t move diagonally anymore.
Marathon:
  • Reverted spawn rate speed increase. Adjusted each wave’s duration.
  • Waves beyond 100 are now randomized setups.
  • Marathon gets a 1% extra charge from chains.
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed crash when using Shovel Drop on shielded foes.
  • Fixed crash when attempting to buy more costumes than available for purchase.
  • Fixed Upside-Crown would cause instant-board fill in Marathon.
  • Fixed wrong orientation sprite for Shuffle Knight B in the guidebook.
  • Fixed electric units in the main board being able to damage Mole Knight B while inside side rooms.
  • Fixed you could get Propeller Knight B’s feat with Shuffle Knight B
  • Fixed some units transformed in Invisishade Hat wouldn’t reset their quirks.

Trial of Offerings: Fixed that the Offering given in Flying Machine was not working correctly. It should now prompt you to remove one of your previously selected Offerings.
Foegenerative Cap
  • Big Foes and Bosses take 18 turns to heal instead of 6. Attacking a unit will reset the heal countdown.
  • Frozen units pause auto-healing.
  • Phased units pause auto-healing.
Time Capsule: No longer spawns at the last stage of a run.
Gremlin’s Cap: Lowered chance of disabling Meal Ticket relics.

Wrathful Tyrolean: “All attacks deal +1 damage.”
Puzzle Knight B: now mentions “Find fewer potions.”

Attention Mac Players!
There is a known bug in this Early Preview build where activating Fullscreen and playing with the keyboard - your character will move continuously in the direction you last pressed. (now fixed in the latest EP build)

You can get around this by:
  • Playing the game in windowed mode
  • Playing with a controller

[h2]New Puzzle Knight’s Quandaries[/h2]
  • Refraction Realm: Master your new Refract AbilitySpatial Shift”. Shift the rows or columns of the board.
  • Pure Puzzler’s Quest: Lines and squares of units are destroyed automatically. Attacks won’t chain.

[h2]New Mona’s Quandaries[/h2]
  • Refraction Realm: Master your new Refract Ability: “Juxtapotion”. Collect Potions, then either use them to heal or attack!
  • Bomb Bombardment Quest: The board is full of units. More Potions and bombs appear.
  • Mr. Hat’s shop is now open!
  • Buy and equip hats! These will modify the game in one way or another, bringing chaos to your runs.

  • New feats are now enabled!
  • Steam Achievements will be updated for the official release and feats achieved during Early Previews will automatically unlock on the final build.

[h2]Highlights[/h2]
  • All DLC text has been reviewed and updated!
  • Mona’s unlock method updated: After getting a score of 100 on her minigame, she will leave to a sideroom where you can unlock her.
  • Heads up: players that already unlocked Mona will have her in hub, but the sideroom should appear anyway.
  • You can now upload scores to the Weekly leaderboard.

[h2]Balance[/h2]
  • Underdog Charm increased the base price from 7000 to 8000
  • Underdog Charm now takes 1 extra turn to trigger after burrowing as Mole Knight.
  • Underdog Charm is 2000 Gems more expensive for Mole Knight A and 8000 Gems more expensive for Mole Knight B.
  • Joustus cards with graveyard now can attack the first row
  • Joustus cards with gear arrows now push units 1 space.
  • Plague Knight’s bomb burst damage was reduced from 3 to 2.

[h2]Quandary Changes[/h2]
  • Treasure Knight’s “From the Depths Quest” now has units stick together (similar to Floatsomes)
  • Prism Knight’s “Crystal Chains Quest” now has units that take a second to pop instead of being tied to a turn timer.

[h3]Black Knight’s “Terrorpin’s Spin Quest”:[/h3]
  • Improvement to collision detection.
  • Reduced damage is taken from Terrorpin.

[h3]Scrap Knight’s “Spawner Sack Quest”:[/h3]
  • Increased turns in between units spawning in your bag from 8 to 10
  • Sometimes bag spawns will be a good item or bomb
  • Sometimes bag spawns will be a foe from a different stage.

[h2]Guidebook[/h2]
  • Added Random Knight and Shuffle Knight to the “Knights” section.
  • “Knights” now tracks your best time and score for each Knight.
  • Refract Abilities now track their stats separately.
  • Updated enemy list.

  • Random and Shuffle Knight can now be found in the entry area of the Castle Quandary.

  • Fixed best time & score in the results screen of a Quandary wouldn’t be compared with your best time/score of said Quandary.
  • Fixed Fleeto would jump when growing the beanstalk.
  • Fixed Specter Knight’s Potions would apply for both players in Versus.
