On discord, Umbrae Stragis shared some interesting ideas with us: what will the characters of Chaos Galaxy do in the new year? The following content comes from him.
I bet Duke Gaoshan has some sort of ceremonial parade where he rides around on a palanquin. He probably also displays the princess in her own palanquin so that no one can question his legitimacy.
Eastgalaxy corp probably has a mercantile holiday? And Kleven maybe throws a party with all the executive members of his corporation?
Pretty sure Li Chengsong's faction goes to visit the graves of their loved ones. The girl (whose name I can't recall) goes to visit the grave of her dead fiance, and Li Chengsong visits his father's grave.
Lycurgus and Hera probably hold some kind of olympian sporting event to celebrate the coming of the new year, and the winners are granted the chance to pilot elite mechs like Ares.
I can totally see them seated in the royal wing of a Colosseum looking on as gladiator mechs fight to the death.
That angry looking guy from Southheaven fleet probably goes around checking how the preparations for his revolution are coming along and making connections with people he'll need in the coming war, like networking. Chen Hentai... I mean Wentai, probably works overtime to assess troop morale and tries to throw together entertainment for the new year to distract the galactic empire.
Bontenmaru, now I'm not sure how everyone else sees her character, but in my opinion, probably lets all her troops celebrate and do their own thing while she retires to a secret mountain lair or something to meditate next to a candle in a dark room while holding a Katana, trying to gain a better understanding for the way of the sword and by extension life.
The leader of the Kurushima pirates strikes me as the sort of guy who is loved by his people, so they probably have a celebration where he is sorta like the chief guest? And they all make plans for the future and do wholesome stuff for the betterment of their community, while also plotting ambushes against the galactic empire.
Black Khalif Jihad... they probably have some kind of mandatory sermon by the Khalif that everyone has to attend? And they renew their faith in the religion that he preaches and maybe make sacrifices and whatnot, who knows, BKJ is a bit of mystery to me.
The Omnic Apocalypse will probably lauch a major invasion knowing full well that most human factions would be engaged in celebration or festivities and would not be expecting the spanish inquisition... I mean Omnic assault. But then they would be thwarted by the Mozi Order cause they built the AI and they know how they think and are always cautions.
Your friendly neighborhood assassins would of course be engaged in the shadow war, taking pot shots at high profile targets and using the revelry to help them blend in and disappear.
Umbrae stragis is really an imaginative guy, isn't he? I think Duke Gaoshan may deliver a new year's speech on galaxy TV, but unfortunately no one watches. Maybe he'll text everyone's phones. Do you have any interesting ideas?
