Chrono Ark EA v1.5 Beta 3 is here!


Hahaha! Mighty Phoenix is back!

You have been waiting a long time for this.
We have been working on Phoenix's mechanics for a while now, almost like creating a new character.
Now fasten up and enjoy the playthrough with "Phoenix, the Legendary Bird"!

Phoenix has undergone big changes with added unique features.
All of Phoenix's traits remain the same. Phoenix still cannot die, but has returned with a normal health bar!
Phoenix now uses Health to measure his hunger but doesn't utilize a Healing Gauge.
Also, Phoenix has a new fixed ability, 'Phoenix's Might'.

You can now link Phoenix's attack skills with others to activate chain effects.

Phoenix can now throw Bread at enemies!



Improvements
  • We have created various special skill traits used by enemies.
    Currently, we have only added one of the special traits to Pharos Warrior's Lacerate.

    - Special enemy skills will now be displayed like the image above, which will allow you to plan on receiving incoming enemy attacks.
    - The previous Pharos skill 'Chained Slash' would target a random character. Now, Lacerate 'Attacks the enemy with the lowest remaining health. If successful, also attack the enemy with the highest remaining health.'
    - We will keep adding special traits to various monsters including bosses.
  • You can now check other skills mentioned in skill descriptions by pressing Shift.
  • 2 New Equipment and 4 New Relics have been added.

    - There are 2 new Equipment and 1 new Relic related to critical strike. 3 Relics have an immediate effect after you place them on the Relic Display Stand but they cannot be removed.
  • The Relic effect of Quick Focus has been changed. Quick Focus now reduces Count by 1.
  • Some of Lucy's Skills have been nerfed.
  • New skill effects have been added.


Bug Fixes and Balancing
  • Fixed a bug where Silverstein's 'Snipe' skill could target freely.
  • Fixed a bug where the 'remove basic skills' option automatically removed a skill even when the amount of skills you have is low.
  • Narhan's 'Trauma' now targets all enemies instead of a single enemy and lasts for 2 -> 4 turns.
  • Charon's Attack Power has been reduced.

Finally, we can release the summary of win rate data collected from data during EA v1.5 Beta 2.

How to Read the Table
The Green bar with a black border is the character's win rate.
Other colors signify the cause of defeat due to various reasons.

Dev Comments on Statistics
We think Chrono Ark's overall win rate has been too high in comparison to our initial plan.
We will not be increasing the game's difficulty for Normal or below, but we still think Expert Difficulty should be harder than its current state.

Chrono Ark EA v1.5 Beta 2 is here.
We have balanced out some characters and added a Quick Progress Mode option!
You'll be able to play through the game much faster by utilizing this mode.


Improvements
  • Lucy's Speed on screen has been slightly increased.
  • Quick Progress Mode option has been added. Lucy will always run while Quick Progress Mode is active.
  • Maximum Accuracy in Expert Difficulty is now limited to 98%. Other Difficulties remain the same.



Balancing

We have nerfed overpowered skills and buffed weak skills in accordance with player data feedback.

Lucy
  • Potential: Cost increased to 2. No longer creates rare skills.
  • Acceleration Circle: Now all skills below Acceleration Circle will correctly receive Swiftness. Discards per turn reduced from 10 -> 7.
Azar
  • Crescent Slash: Damage ratio has been reduced from 150% -> 135%.
  • Veiled Sword: Now has Swiftness. Veiled Sword now gives the target 1 -> 2 buff stacks.
  • Resistance has been reduced.
Narhan
  • Trojan Horse: Cost reduced from 1 -> 0.
Hein
  • Rage: Cost reduced from 2 -> 1.
  • Identify Weakness: Now has Once Only. Success rate increased from 120% -> 150%.
  • Base Attack increased by 1.
  • Tear Up: Damage increased from 75 -> 80.
  • Mutilate: Damage increased from 175 -> 180.
Joey
  • Health has been reduced.
  • Base Attack has been reduced by 1.
Lian
  • Overall stats have been increased.
  • Bring It On!: Now adds random ally attack skills to hand instead of completely random ones.
  • Preparation: Now protects the Healing Gauge and gives 2 -> 3 buff stacks.
  • Combat Roar: Now increases the critical chance of 3 -> 5 skills from the top of your hand.
Miss Chain
  • Health and Attack has been slightly increased.
  • Zoom!: Now gives 1 -> 2 stacks of Armor Reduction Debuff.
  • Engine Reload!: The buff no longer grants bonus incoming heals. Instead, increases Max. Health by 20%.
  • Leave This to Me!: Damage from counterattacking has been increased from 50% -> 60%.
Pressel
  • Guardian Angel: Healing amount increased from 150% ->170%.
  • Healing Coil and Holy Light: Healing amount slightly increased.
Huz
  • Give and Take: Fixed a bug where Huz used to view 3 skills at the top of deck and draw one.
  • Uncontrollable Doll: Positive effects have been buffed.
  • Rabbit Doll MVP: No longer has Once Only. Damage ratio has been increased from 140% -> 150%.
  • Punish: Fixed text: 'damage per debuff on the target.' -> 'damage per debuff stack on the target.'
Charon
  • Health increased by 2. Attack increased by 1. Evade Chance increased by 5%. Accuracy increased by 2%.
  • Shadow Pillars: Attack ratio increased from 110% -> 130%.
Silverstein
  • Attack has been increased by 1.
  • Enhanced Mark: Incoming damage ratio increased from 20% -> 30%.
  • Rapid Shot: Damage ratio increased from 25% -> 35%.
  • Bear Trap: Target gains increased chance to be attacked. Damage ratio increased from 90% -> 100%. All fainted allies gain 30% Evade Chance once Bear Trap is activated.
Trisha
  • Shadow Dance: Now has 100% critical hit chance.
  • Blink Stab: Now has Swiftness. Cost reduced from 2 -> 1.
  • Apply Bandage: Healing amount reduced from 120% -> 90%.


The balancing for this update is based on valuable collected data from our beta participants.
Further balancing can be implemented regardless of collected data. This will consider specific party comps in the future.

Improvements
  • New skills added for Huz, Sizz, and Narhan. Try them out now!
  • We have now added a 'Send Data' option. You can send gameplay results to our server to make it easier for us to balance the game. You can toggle it on and off in the options menu.
  • New dialogue has been added for the Investigation Team members.
  • If you have acquired 3 of the same skill, it will no longer appear.
  • New skill and buff icon illustrations have been added!


Balancing
  • Azar - Sword of Infinity: Cost has been increased to 2.
  • Charon - Dark Barrier: Ratio has been increased from 150% -> 140%. Dark Barrier's barrier amount can now be stacked.
  • Miss Chain - From Head to Toe: Count has been removed. It no longer consumes Burnnn!.
  • Miss Chain - Combined Arms: Cost has been decreased from 3 to 2. Count has been removed. It prioritizes skills that aren't Basic Attacks, which follows after Combined Arms is cast.
  • Lucy - Repeat: Now only shows ally skills that originally cost 1.
  • Spirit Wolf(from Stage 3): Evade has dropped significantly. Now appears with a 'Ghost' buff instead.



Bug Fixes
  • Skills played while Trisha has Double Team active are now properly shown as 0-cost.

Chrono Ark EA Beta v1.5 is here.

First of all, we apologize for the delayed updates.
We have moved our office from a small 150 square feet room to a 500 square feet office.

We had planned big scenario updates for v1.5, but unfortunately it's taking more time than initially planned.
We are currently prioritizing improvements for bigger parts of our game system.


The biggest improvement for v1.5 is the increased skill pool for all characters. Rare skills are a new addition to the game.
As we have improved most character mechanics, we have also added new skills for each of them.

- Currently, 49 character skills have been added.

The following characters are currently available in Beta:
Hein, Joey, Trisha, Miss Chain, Azar, Pressel, Ironheart, Charon, Silverstein, and Lian.


New
  • Up to 10 skills and 3 Rare skills per character have been been added.
  • Every character gained a Lucy's skill that helps draw more skills.
  • Skill Books: Skill Books generate a random class skill for one of your party members.
  • Golden Skill Book: Golden Skill Books generate a random party member's Rare skill. Rare skills have a red border. You are guaranteed to obtain a Golden Skill Book at some point while playing.
  • Lucy's New Draw Skills: Gain a low chance to obtain a new class Draw skill for your party members when you upgrade Lucy's Draw skill.


Improvements
  • Your party members now have more basic skills. You can remove a skill when you have more than 4-5 skills. Class skills are now removable.
  • New Keyword: Count. This substitutes the previous Keyword: Focus. A skill with Count will be cast later than others. A skill's Count will decrease each time you cast a skill.
  • Debuff skills with no damage will always be activated.
  • You can now wait more per turn with increased Speed.
  • New clown-themed music has been added for Stage 2. We are planning to add more bosses besides Joker.
  • Boss-themed music has been slightly edited for Stage 3.


All character mechanics have been improved and adjusted.
There are so many changes this patch, please don't hesitate to check them out!

Chrono Ark EA v1.42 has arrived!

Improvements
  • Remnant of Madness: Description has been altered.
    'If an enemy is defeated, add the excess amount' -> 'Whenever a target is damaged, add any excess'
    Merciless Explosion and Remnant of Madness' combo now activates Remnant of Madness' effect even if you could not defeat the target with the overkill damage.


Balancing
  • Soul Stigma: Base damage has been reduced from (50 + 200% of Attack) to (43 + 200% of Attack).
  • Shadow Illusion: Now has Swiftness. This cannot be casted on a skill that was already created by Shadow Illusion.


Bug Fixes
  • Trisha: All ally skill costs will be correctly reduced after 5 stacks of Trisha's Backstab.
  • Time Eater: The next skill cast after Time Eater's Fast Forward will be correctly Focused.


We have made done some balancing and corrected some bug fixes for this patch.
