Sandbox Scenario new content

Hello!

As you may have noticed, the game now has a sandbox scenario, where one can pick the victory conditions that suits his playstyle.

Here is the list of what have been reworked or added to the game in that sandbox context:

 • 4 new characters (Puyi, Semeynov, Duan Qirui, Panchen Lama)
 • Events when you take Beijing or Lhasa based on faction
 • Some new character's actions & interactions
 • Golog's victory conditions changed
 • Some minor warlord's AI have been reworked
 • Tons of new cheat codes
 • Some more treason mechanisms
 • Integration tests for the Chinese language have begun
New Characters & Political custom events
Puyi: Few factions have the restoration of Puyi as a goal, but Ungern for exemple may have this kind of fancy ideas

Semeynov: Every white Russian faction taking Beijing will have the option to get Semeynov onboard. He won't come with empty hands, but with Japanese patronage.

Duan Qirui: Some warlords from the Anhui Clique may be proposed to let Duan return as President of the Republic. That's useful as the man as strong connections, and can recruit many characters.

Panchen Lama: A Chinese warlord conquering Lhasa will sent the Dalai Lama in exile once again. The Panchen Lama will be added to his characters' pool.
New Characters' actions
I plan to add many more actions, but for the moment, you have that 3 new actions available from the Character's interaction window:

Indulge: two characters with the playboy role may become real life friends with this action!

Political networking: Your diplomat and statesman characters will gain a real influence when using this action. It is useful to shape your diplomatic operations. It is perfect as a preparatory action before taking over a government or issuing a circular telegram.

Parade in style: is an easy way for warlords and officers to get Face.
Victory conditions and AI's reworked
The victory conditions of the Goloks are more difficult now.
Some warlords AI and Ma QI AI have been reworked to make them last longer in the sandbox mode.
As it is in test phase, only few of the warlords have this new AI.
New cheat codes
In a sandbox mode, using cheat code is more a way to explore the game than to really cheat, isn't it?
These cheat codes have all been created to test the code.

To use them type "c" to open the cheat console, then use the cheat codes below:

"punksinpekin": will reinforce the Police in Beijing and check for a revolt (You will see nothing happening if you have strong garrison there)

"angrylama": just watch the monks rebelling in Xikang, because... why not?

"endgame": this one is very useful, it will advance you to the last turn, just one click away from the final victory screen.

"duanqirui": Adds Duan Qirui to your character's pool

"choekyinyima": Adds the Panchen Lama to your character's pool

"grigorisemenov": Adds a famous White Russian Cossack Ataman to your character's pool

"puyi": Guess which famous historical character that code will add to your pool?

"tycoon": Speeds up all your policies development

"yollo": That one will give max resources to all your characters (quite powerful)

"wearefamily": Will boost to the maximum the loyalty of your characters

"Bogdbreaksfree": Will clean Urga from units and set it neutral
Some more treason
Imagine you have many province capitals under your control: do you really imagine that garrison commanders won't start dreaming of a governor's career?
If you have too many armies, the control over them will losen, I you may have some nasty surprise from time to time.
Chinese integration tests
正在进行中,但还有很多文本需要翻译
You can click on the Chinese language button to test it.
You will see that most of the scenario and landing page texts have not been translated yet.
But some in game content is.
I will add new texts from time to time as they become translated.

Well, I hope you will have fun with this new content,

Old Computer friendly patch

Hello,

I have been adding frantickly tons of new content these last weeks, and a direct consequence has been the game growing insanely huge and heavy.

That could not last.
I took a moment to optimize it so you can experience it even on your older computer.
Well, may be not on your 2001 Microsoft Visa computer...

This week and next week, I will add every day (or every two days) some small QOL, UI/UX updates.
Do not hesitate to jump into the Discord to ask for your dreamed feature: https://discord.com/invite/289Pr4g

Then, I will add some Northern Expedition content.
(Now that we have whole China in the game, and a grand scenario, I should be able to deliver new content fast)

Have Fun!

Whole China playable!

You have 103 turns to reform Tibet and revive the old Tibetan Empire.

The 13th Dalai Lama rejected Chinese tutelage and assumed both the spiritual and political leadership of Tibet.
The Tibetan forces gained a lot of ground East of Tibet, against Chinese troops abandonned by the Chinese Government.
Although a fragile peace accord was eventually signed, China's persistent claims on Tibet remained unresolved, casting a shadow of uncertainty over the region.
In order to safeguard Tibet from Chinese influence, the Dalai Lama sought the support of the formidable British Empire and set his sights on creating a robust military force.
To fund this ambitious endeavor, he proposed implementing taxation and economic reforms.\nHowever, these reform ideas faced vehement opposition from the powerful monasteries, who viewed them as secularist and foreign-inspired.
This clash of interests heightened the risk of an open rebellion against the emerging class of "modernist militarists" surrounding the Dalai Lama.
Caught in the middle, a third faction composed of conservative government officials could potentially play the role of mediator in the escalating conflicts.

Wanna try it?
here it is : https://store.steampowered.com/app/1189100?utm_source=SteamNews
Current state of the game
• The whole China map is now playable, including Mongolia and Tibet
 • Every 1920 factions, is available
 • The core system have been playtested for more than 6 monthsnow and is pretty solid.
What's next?
I will now concentrate my efforts on :
*nice to have features,
*coding rare occurence events (What if the Golog tribes take over Beijing?)
*adding more personal actions centered on characters backgrounds and traits
*adding more sandboxy stuff & features

*Next content patc will probably either be an extention of the Guangdong Revolutionary Base scenario, or some 1927 KMT-CCP savage action across Southern China.

Tell me what hypes you the most!

Ma Family vs Golok Marauders

A smaller but fun content update:

 • Ma Family
 • Golok tribes
 • Qinghai
 • More redrawn maps
Ma Family
The Ma family has special actions : they can add Imams to their troops and advocate the religious Yihewani movement in their districts (and even in other districts).

The faction receive 2 new characters and can also gain the famous Golok Queen during the game, if the conditions are met.

With victory conditions easy to met, and a province few other warlords will contest, it is a good beginner faction.
Golok tribes
This small faction has a specific gameplay to simulate its rebellious and bandit way of life.
From players feedback, this faction can be described as half way between the Spirit soldiers and the Ja Lama.
Qinghai
The new province is huge, but poor and features a new terrain: the Tibetan highlands.
Qinghai will open new strategic opportunities for factions in Xinjiang, Gansu and Sichuan.
Redrawn maps/h3]

They are the Shaanxi, Henan and Qinghai maps.
Note that now, Shaanxi is connected to Henan by Railways (this can change a lot of things)

Next to come: Tibet!

Xinjiang, Gansu and more White Russians!

Hello, here is an new big fat content patch!

First I want to say that the annoying bug that made some armies dissapear on save/load is no more!
Thank you for every one who reported it.

That said, here is what you will find in this new patch:

 • 2 new provinces: Xinjiang and Gansu
 • 15+ new characters
 • 12 new factions (Ma families, White Russians, Kumul Khanate, Xinjiang officials...)
 • New features: oasis towns, khanates, many new White Russian actions...
 • Some more maps redrawn to the new style
 • Yes, I changed enough stuff to break your current saved games

September 1920,

Xinjiang governor Yang Zengxin is worried.
The Russian Civil War has direct repercussions over his province: White Russians armed bands are using China as a rear base to conduct vengeful raids into Bolshevik territories.
Since the fall of Yuan Shikai, Yang Zengxin has not received any funds, nor any modern weapon for his army...
It seems that the governor is on his own to deal with his powerful and wild unwelcome Russian guests.

The governor's enemies in Xinjiang and Beijing are awaiting an error to interfer in his business and oust him from power.
Soon the Red Army will be tempted to in turn cross the border to eradicate the last White armies.

As governor Yang, you have 103 turns to get rid of your enemies in Xinjiang.

To recreate Xinjiang and Gansu, new types of districts have been created for the game: oasis towns and khanates.

Some More Russian Civil War action!

To better simulate the last actions of the Russian civil war, many features have been added: raids into Bolshevik territory, the possibility to recruit White Russians stragglers, the possibility to use the lasts Imperial Russian consulates in Xinjiang to help you...

All the White Russians commanders in Xinjiang are in the game: Dutov, Annenkov, Bakich, but be ready to lose them to treachery and assassinates.

As the White Russian player, You are not the only Russians in town: Bolshevik agents can bevery active in the area!

We are family!

Most of you know or have eard of Ma Bufang, but they were many more Ma in town at that time.
Playing in Gansu have many similarities with the Sichuan gameplay: a lot of factions on a single territory, but with more desert, more horses and ridiculously small armies (by Guangdong standards).

September 1920,

the Hui warlords in Gansu resent the rule of the overnor Zhang Guangjian and petitioned Beijing for his replacement, arguing that Gansu should be governed by people from Gansu.

However, the situation is not as simple, as the province is divided into eight military districts, with half being governed by a Hui commander and the other half by Han commanders.

The Han population is still unwilling to accept the idea of a Hui governor due to the frightening memory of past Hui rebellions.
The situation remained at a standstill until Zhang Guangjian lost support in Beijing, as the power of the Anhui Clique collapsed under attacks from the Zhili and Fengtian Cliques.

Zhang Guangjian's days as a governor are numbered, and the question arises as to who will rise as the next strong leader in Gansu.

You have 103 turns to impose your rule in Gansu and its surrounding areas.

The Ma factions will receive more love and special features in the next patch (Tibet)

I hope that will be enough content for you to have fun waiting for the next content patch,

Have Fun!
