Exophobia launch week and PixElated Festival!

Thank you so much to all the players that made Exophobia launch week so special.
From all your reactions, praises, critiques, bug findings, it wouldn't be the same without all of you.
I've been working hard to fix all the problems that have been appearing in the forums, so thank you for your patience!! It's shaping up to be an even better experience.

And this launch week couldn't be with better company! PixElated Festival started yesterday and Exophobia is part of this amazing showcase of pixel art games along other giants of its type.

  • Level design changes on all floors for better orientation
  • Map Battery option - yep, this was causing more frustration than anything lol
  • Went back on Core boss - the move is too cool, I'll let players figure it out on their own
  • Key doors are now visible in the map - easier to know where to go when you got a card

  • Pressing a gamepad button/keyboard button changes control type - This was confusing some players that had connected gamepads and wanted to play with keyboard.
  • File Icon now appears on pause menu - This should help some players remember what the last major point in the game and help them progress.
  • Infinite mode crashes may not happen again? - Haven't tested properly but let me know if it crashes for you and what level that happens.
  • Kill all Zarkonians achievements is now tracked in the pause menu - Some players were confused on their progress with this achievement. It should be more clear now! Happy Zarkonian killing lol
  • Fixed water drain crash that happened if you died after using the valves but not saving before dieing.
  • Poisoned mode does not stay on if you pause the game
  • Core boss now opens eye after killing all drones - some players didn't know they could slide into the eyes. This is still possible and the fastest strategy but now players won't get stuck.
  • Explosions now destroy secret walls - makes secret hunting easier (thanks to Burr livestream)
  • Vending machine with filter now resets - a player had trouble finding the last filter because of this

Hello everyone!
Thank you all so much for giving Exophobia a chance on launch day! Hope you are all having a good time.

As expected, some bugs were found, as the game has never been played by this much people at the same time.

[h2]Patch notes:[/h2]

  • Fixed softlock issue found in the Steam forums - the hook that goes south always spawns on top. This is the only one that does this, but this was necessary so everyone that found this softlock can resume playing without starting a new save file. Sorry for the trouble.
  • Fixed game breaking in floor 3 at the robot ambush - some players were doing sequence breaks without noticing and the game broke because of it. Now it allows you to continue without activating the ambush and it's a new strat for speedrunners.
  • First attempt at a key rebind feature - you can find it in the options menu in the controls tab. Let me know if it is working for you PC players!
  • Removed "demo" from the window title.
  • Dashing through vines with jetpack no longer causes damage
  • Composer was renamed in the credits lol
  • A few level design changes to help navigation
