1.28.1 Patch Notes
  • You can now shoot through the fan columns in the castle map
  • Fixed various Russian translations
  • Fixed various out of map bugs in the Castle map
  • The teleporter gun will now be less likely to be able to teleport you into walls
  • Fixed shotgun spread patterns
  • Fixed the random snapping of the AK when un scoping
  • Fixed the recoil patterns of the AK while scoped
  • Reworked player/camera animations to be less jarring
  • The fans in the Castle map no longer cancel gliding
  • Added 35 game tips to the connecting screen
  • Fixed a bug on the mini gun where you wouldn’t be able to aim straight down while recoiling
  • Fixed the key binds menu
  • Fixed the chat re-bind keybind
  • Fixed the team re balancing logic so you will no longer be randomly switching teams when re spawning
  • Made a nice UI to show the next gun in the gun game mini game


1.28.2 Patch Notes
  • Fixed a bug where the shop timer for hats and skins would reset to 8 minutes every time you re opened the shop
  • You can now buy any hat at any time in the armoury
  • The hat section in the shop has been reworked, so that instead of being able to buy 1 hat per day, you get an offer for a 20% discount on a particular hat
  • Aiming straight down with the launcher will now shoot down instead of exploding on your feet
  • Walking up to a wall and shooting the launcher will no longer allow the launcher bullet to phase through the wall
  • If you quit during the tutorial, you will now be given the option to replay the tutorial when you re open the game
  • Fixed connection issues
  • Improved the loading screens in between maps or menus
  • Improved DLC selection screen
  • Fixed the black screen bug
  • Fixed bugs with coin buying where they would occasionally not be granted
  • Improved english tutorial voice lines
  • Completely overhauled the tutorial
  • Added progress bars to both tutorials

INCREDIBLE NEW MAP & 2 NEW ABILITIES (1.28)

Hello everyone! It's been a while since the last big update...and that's because I've been hard at work polishing up the game and implementing a bunch of really small features/ bug fixes

It's time for another huge content update!


New Map: Castle

The screenshots really don't do this map justice—the amount of detail I put into this one is incredible :)

Play Capture the Flag on two sides of the same castle! There's huge verticality, bridges, hideouts, and parts of some towers are even enterable!

  • I've also bumped the number of maps in the map vote to 6 to accomadate


2 new Abilities


[h3]Hardened Bullet[/h3]

This is a new always active passive ability
  • The first bullet of the mag deals 1.5X damage. For example, the damage for the AK is something like [48, 23, 23, 23 etc]. For the shotgun pistol, one of the pellets is randomly chosen to do 1.5X damage
  • Overall it's a pretty unique ability, there will be more abilities soon that modify game rules or centre around combat rather than movement. Let me know on the Paint Warfare Discord if you have ideas!


[h3]Med Kit[/h3]
  • This replaces the old 'Heal' ability with something that's also useful for cooperation team-based modes. If you bought the old heal ability, you'll have this automatically unlocked
  • You can throw the medkit down to your feet (instantly drops) or anywhere you like
  • It deals a small explosion where it drops where it heals 30HP for you/teammates in the radius
  • It then heals 10HP every second for 8 seconds for you/teammates standing in the radius
  • So essentially if you see one of your allies are low, you can throw the medkit at them and heal them :)


[h3]Overhauled: Glider[/h3]
The glider has been due for an overhaul for ages, it's been hardly used because it was weak and it also wasn't very fun to use.
  • Momentum: if you fly downwards for long/fast enough, you build up momentum in your glider which you can use to fly up really fast as well
  • Buffed the overall speed of the glider
  • Added wind SFX depending on the speed, and the camera now zooms slightly depending on how fast you're going


[h3]Overhauled: Radar[/h3]
  • The radar was very weak, so now on top of showing enemies through walls, it now displays directional arrows around your crosshair to reveal nearby enemies to you


[h3]Overhauled: Super Speed Boots[/h3]
  • Super speed boots now increase speed while midair as well


New Map Feature: Giant Fans

This was the suggestion of some of the members on our community Paint Warfare Discord Server. I've only added it to the new castle map for the time being.



Polish & Bug Fixes
  • Reworked a lot of the code base to minimise bugs and speed up future development time
  • Fixed the consistency of double jumping—sometimes double jumping would not always work
  • Fixed the glider not activating correctly
  • Fixed the equip buttons not updating in the respawn armoury when changing from primary -> secondary weapons
  • New quality option: Max (increases shadow rendering distance and makes them look a lot nicer by smoothing them)
  • Smaller bug fixes

Paint Warfare 1.27.6 Hotfix

Fixes
  • Fixed performance issues
  • New invert Y/X mouse options
  • Organised keybinds menu
  • New curated featured video feature to support Paint Warfare creators
  • Fixed the grapple being "locked" respawn armoury
  • Fixed a bug where the ingame pause/options menu would become broken and not show up
  • Fixed some interactions in the menu so you can use the [esc] key to exit more menues


How to get your video featured

I feature quality videos I genuinely like—they can be in any language Paint Warfare supports and I'll show it to that game audience.

Other news

I've been pretty busy doing a lot of freelance work and studying for exams recently so I apologise that the patches have been small incremental improvements.

My goal is to get the game into a super polished, bug-free state at the moment so we can grow our player base and then I'll add features :)

However, some exciting news is that I'll be dropping 1-2 new maps later this week

Paint Warfare 1.27.5 Hotfix

Fixed XP and Coin bug
  • Fixed a critical bug some people experienced on the last update that prevented XP/coins from being earnt


Other changes
  • Fixed tutorial loading/ respawn bugs/ polish
  • Optimized game size
  • Added an ingame FPS counter in game options
  • Fixed a bug that would cause the match timer to break when loading
  • Fixed a bug that caused the health bar to get stuck on a red colour
  • Fixed a bug with Fast/Super fast graphics settings on Apple Silicon macs that caused a grey screen
  • Fixed a visual bug that caused the in-match weapon switcher weapon to show up in the map
  • Typing in chat while in the pause menu no longer triggers the button hotkeys
  • Fixed a rendering bug that caused the Galaxy skin and Blaze skin to show up in the menu on the player (even if it wasn't unlocked)
  • You can no longer shoot team mate turrets
  • Fixed team rebalancing
  • Added DirectX12 and Vulkan rendering support (Improves rendering performance on modern GPUs)
