Dev Diary - Development Status and Updates

Hey everyone!

Following up on my previous post regarding the game progression to Early Access, I would like to share with you what I have been working on:

Fantasy forest environment, Jizz gun, Behaviours Menu, Socks, Shoes and more!!

We are adding a large fantasy forest environment, the Jizz Gun, behaviours menu, socks, shoes and more!!

There are also some important bug fixes and improvements which are needed for the Steam early access release. The Steam release is my top priority for 2025, and I've already made significant progress towards this huge milestone! More details soon!

NEW FEATURES
  • Fantasy Forest Environment
  • Jizz Gun – Get messy and cover your characters in cum! New decal based cum system. Characters will even open their mouths when it lands on their face.
  • Behaviours Menu – Added a new menu with controls for orgasm sensitivity, arousal meter/slider, and auto-lick. The Look At, Gape and Voice controls have also been moved here for better organization.
  • Added a fluids slider for orgasms.
  • Orgasm Button – A dedicated orgasm button has been added to the Behaviours Menu.
  • Socks – Dress up your characters with 4 brand-new socks.
  • Shoes – 5 new footwear options are now available, including high heels and long boots!
IMPROVEMENTS
  • Hand & Feet IK Rotation Controls in VR – Prevented wrists from bending into impossible poses, improving overall realism and reducing jankiness.
  • Placed some UI elements in expandable areas for organisation.
  • Added thumbnails for all the male skin and face presets.
BUG FIXES
  • Futa Custom Texture Loading – Fixed an issue where custom textures were not loading properly, causing the game to hang when loading a scene with Futa characters.
  • Ass Collision – Collision detection for the ass now functions as intended.
  • Male Pleasure System – Penis stimulation now works correctly.

Captain Hardcore: Steam Early Access is on the Horizon!

Hey everyone!

AntiZero here, developer of Captain Hardcore. I'm excited to share some news - Captain Hardcore is making steady progress toward Steam Early Access! I wanted to give you a sneak peek at the development roadmap and what’s in store for the future 👽🚀

The story so far
Up until now, development has been heavily focused on Sandbox Mode. This wasn’t always the plan - originally, the game design didn’t prioritize the Sandbox as the main feature. But after seeing how much players loved it, I made it my mission to create the most advanced scene creator I possibly could.

That meant diving deep into tricky technical territory: custom character rigging, engine customisation, physics, UI, and animation systems. Some things that I needed had never been done with Unreal Engine before, so I needed to create my own solutions for certain physics and animation problems from scratch.

The good news? All of the main Sandbox features are now ready for Early Access. That means I can finally shift my focus toward gameplay and adding more content - things like clothing, hair, and environments.

Steam
I launched the Steam page early (over a year ago), following Valve’s advice to start gathering wishlists as soon as possible. The response has been incredible, with over 40k wishlists and counting it's my number one priority to release on Steam ASAP. I’ve created a roadmap for the Early Access release - motivated by the overwhelming interest in the Steam demo I worked very intensely the past few months and have already made significant progress towards this huge milestone!

Real Talk: Burnout & Balance
If there's one thing this push has taught me, it’s that I need to pace myself. I’m aiming for an Early Access release later this year, but I want to be realistic—burning out would only slow things down and hurt the final product.

To help hit this target, I’ll be bringing in support with asset and content creation while I continue focusing on core features and gameplay. Development is moving at a solid, steady pace, and Steam is on the horizon - I just want to make sure I do it right.

What’s next
Here are the key features I’m focusing on for the Early Access release:

  • Major bug fixes and overall improvements
  • Expanding environments in the Cyber Masturbatorium
  • More customization options! New clothing, hairstyles, and preset characters
  • Updating preset scenes
  • Adding a basic tutorial to help new players get started

🛸Gameplay Expansions
  • Adding new weapons
  • Introducing new enemy types
  • Designing the main antagonist
  • Creating the first playable mission

🛸 Next Steps: Testing Phase🔎
  • Once the core features are complete, I’ll move into:
  • Gameplay balancing and improvements
  • Bug fixing and optimization
  • Steam platform testing to prepare for launch
Aiming for 2025 – But Quality Comes First!
While I’d love to release in 2025, game development is unpredictable. My focus is on delivering an experience that meets both my vision and your expectations, so I’ll take the time needed to get it right. New 0.18 Demo Update is finally available!

I am very happy to say that we have some exciting updates to the Captain Hardcore Demo 🔥

[h3]Captain Hardcore Demo is now bigger and Better![/h3]

The full list of improvements is:

  • NEW: Facial Expressions - 32 female and 17 male expressions, these are fine tuneable with sliders and it's even possible to mix different expressions. I'm planning to automate some of these in the future to create dynamic character reactions.
  • NEW: Option for characters to stick out their tongue, this overrides the expression sliders.
  • IMPROVED: The look at system has been re built from scratch. Head and eyes rotation now works perfectly, regardless of the overall character orientation. With the old system they would not rotate correctly when the character was on their back, side or upside down.
  • IMPROVED: Increased the head constraint limits so that it can rotate further backwards.
  • NEW: Smart look at mode - Characters gaze will automatically follow the player, toys and other characters when they notice them.
  • IMPROVED: When a toy or other object is inserted into a characters mouth they'll only track movement with their eyes, this stops animations from being messed up!
  • NEW: Option to hide the laser beams and red dot when the menu is closed.
  • FIXED: Skin material settings could not be changed on the default character/scalp bug.
  • IMPROVED: Better mouth and teeth textures + material.
  • FIXED: Player falling through the floor in some situations when switching between edit and first person mode.
  • FIXED: Gimbal lock issue that caused the head and eyes to glitch at certain angles.

Development Update Progress for PC

Greetings everyone,

It's time for our first development update of 2024! 👽👽👽

I intend to make more frequent dev updates throughout the year to keep everyone aware of the progress being made for Captain Hardcore.

With that said, PC version 0.18 is going very well. Many new features are in progress, and a new large environment will create many new scene possibilities!

[h2]Facial Expressions[/h2]

I'm working on more than 30 character expressions. These will all be fine-tuneable with sliders, but I plan to automate some for dynamic character reactions.



[h2]Tongue posing/animations[/h2]

There will be controls for the tongue and new dynamic animations. Characters will automatically lick each other when in the correct position. This should also mean Aheago expressions will be possible! 👅



[h2]The "look at system" has been re-built from scratch[/h2]

  • Fixed a gimbal lock issue that caused the head and eyes to glitch at certain angles.

[h2]Smart look at mode[/h2]

When they notice the player, toys, or other characters' faces or genitals, the characters' gazes automatically follow them. Also, when a toy or other object is inserted into their mouth, they only track movement with their eyes. This prevents animations from being messed up!



[h2]New environment: Suburban Neighbourhood[/h2]

An entire street consisting of 16 houses, which are all enterable! This large environment opens up so many scene creation possibilities in a more "realistic" setting, and I can't wait to see what everyone does with it! There's even a button to switch between day and night mode! New spawnable furniture objects are also being added so that you can decorate the house interiors however you like.

Overall, this is shaping to be a great addition to the game. I'm working hard to complete everything and keep improving the game for Steam. I will have more news about releasing on Steam during the next Steam Next Festival. Meanwhile, if you want to get early builds, you can get them here.

It's Time to Celebrate Steam VR Fest With a New Demo Update!

Hello Everyone!

We are thrilled with the game's reception on Steam! Thank you to everyone that has already wishlisted Captain Hardcore! We believe that to celebrate Steam VR Fest, we should give something back to say thanks for your support so far.

We have updated the Captain Hardcore Demo to celebrate Steam VR Fest. Most of the new features from update 0.17 have been included! :)



What's New in the Demo Update:
  • NEW: 8 male skin pre-sets!
  • NEW: 29 male face pre-sets!
  • NEW: Over 140 male morph sliders!
  • NEW: 10 male hairstyles!
  • NEW: 16 male clothing items!
  • NEW: 2 short female hairstyles.
  • NEW: Adjust camera movement speed in desktop mode by scrolling with the mouse wheel while holding the right mouse button.
  • Improved: Added a thrusting command to the Lovense integration for the Gravity toy.
  • FIXED: UI bug when resetting morphs.
  • FIXED: Issue with the male jaw physics constraint.


That also means that development officially entered its second phase! Now that the main sandbox features are completed we're looking forward to working on stage 2 including facial expressions, dynamic reactions, the orgasm/pleasure system, more interactive toy integrations and gameplay systems.
