  • General fixes across the board.
Improvements:
  • A new Tutorial card has been added to the practice modes to explain how to open the Quick Menu and use it to exit the mode.
  • Adjustments to lighting, materials, and textures.
New Features:
  • Multiplayer Free Roam: The host can select any venue they have unlocked and up to 5 players can be connected together.
  • Multiplayer 1v1: The host selects the pitching type. Both players can select their team jerseys.
  • In-App purchases: You can now purchase custom items for your character using our new coin system. You earn coins for playing 6-inning and 9-inning games. You earn more for winning. You can also purchase coins using a credit card.
  • New single-player progression map was added to the single-player menu.
  • New teams were added to the game.
  • New venues were added to the game.
  • New voice-overs were added to the game, including the radio on top of the locker.

    Bug Fixes:
    • Fixed an issue causing the ball to hang in the air when the ball is caught for the third out while it is in slow motion.
    • The player no longer begins moving during their swing if they hold both grips while batting and using locomotion.
    • The player no longer begins moving during their swing if they hold the thumbstick while batting and using smooth movement.
    • When points are earned during the same play that a third out is received, the points will be reverted back to just before the play.
    • Fixed an issue causing AI batters to swing at balls over their head and behind them.

    Improvements:
    • Individualized character stats so not all players on a team have the same speeds or react the same anymore.
    • Made adjustments to teleporting logic.
    • Improved defensive team AI logic.
    • Reduced the ball’s bouncing capability when colliding with bases and the pitcher’s mound.
    • Adjusted the alignment of the customizer menu on the locker in the locker room.
    • Reduced the amount of force given to the ball when running and releasing the ball.
    • AI runners now will run if a ball is going to land in the near outfield and it is obvious that it will not be caught.
    • Adjusted the positioning of the near outfield in the stadium to improve the AI base running choices.
    • Runners now run for the next base if a fumble occurs far out in the field.
    • Updated locker room poster with new URLs.
    • The summer event poster has been removed from the locker room as the event has ended.
    • Fast throws near other players will no longer be intercepted by those players and instead will go to the intended player in the distance behind them.
    • Adjusted the amount of bounce in the camera that follows the runner in spectator mode.
    New Features:
    • Birds have been added, they fly in, land on the dugout, sit and peck for a bit, and then fly off across the field.
    • The build number has been added to the settings menu for reference when reporting and tracking down bugs. Please include this number whenever reporting a bug in Discord.
    • Smooth movement now has the option for Left hand only, Right hand only, and both hands. The two handed option works the same as it always has. The one-handed options function a little differently. You run faster the farther you push the thumbstick from its center position.
    • The player is now able to switch which hand they hold their bat without switching their batting stance. This option can be found in the batting settings.
    • The batting stance option has been added to the quick menu while batting.
    • Some AI batters are now left-handed batters.
    • Runners now occasionally steal bases as the pitcher pitches.
    • Runners now lead off the base at various distances each time a batter readies up.
    • The player can now teleport into and become the catcher when the ball is thrown to the catcher. This does not occur when pitching toward the catcher. Keep in mind that the catcher wears a face protection mask and therefore his first person view is slightly different from the other players.

NO MORE LIMITS

In updates to the game around a month ago we added code so that players couldn't hit too many consecutive homeruns, these fixes were made not just for the singleplayer game but specifically to have some things in place so that multiplayer mode (coming soon) would function better. Alternatively, we came up with a new pitching system so the speeds and directions from pitches vary much more and add a new layer of challenge to batting. With this new method in place, we no longer see a need for any kind of limits. We really hope you enjoy the game and if the limits lead to you leaving an angry comment, we hope the update makes you happy and you can enjoy the game again.

Bug Fixes:
Returning to the batter’s box while the off baseline alarm is sounding now stops the alarm from sounding.
The teleport sound no longer plays when throwing a ball into the ground toward another fielder.
The ball now properly lines up in the mitt when throwing the ball directly into another player’s mitt from close range.
Fixed an issue causing the batting order to get messed up.
The pitcher now receives the ball when an OUT is called from straying too far on a home run.
The announcer no longer says, “Strike 1” for a strikeout that ends the inning.
A defender attempting to tag the player will now continue the attempt and will only throw the ball back to the pitcher once the player is locked on a base, preventing the player from stealing an extra base.
Fixed an issue causing the player to be able to force an out at second base after a forced out was called at first base.
Fixed an issue causing pitches to break when switching pitch type while holding a ball.
Fixed an issue where forced outs were not always called when they should be.
Fixed an issue with the glove failing to illuminate when beginning a new inning as pitcher.
Fixed an issue causing the ball indicator to remain in the glove when using the cannon.

Improvements:
The max pitching speed for the Phants has been reduced.
The limit on the number of home runs in an inning has been removed.
Improved the rules logic to include Foul Tips - If you hit the ball with the bat and it goes straight into the catcher’s mitt, it will be judged a strike.
Reduced the chance that the Phants will hit a home run.
New Features:
Human batters now have the ability to be hit by the ball and gain a walk. Additionally, stepping into the strike zone intentionally to be hit will result in a strike if the ball is pitched correctly.
AI pitchers now have a variance in their pitching speed.

Thanks so much for sticking with us at TOTALLY BASEBALL over the last year (in EARLY ACCESS) we've been making lots of updates and posts but sporadically and some on Twitter some on here but MOST on our Discord but thanks to you and the BIG success the game has been on QUEST we've been able to bring more folks to help with multiplayer development, more Avatar custom and stadium options, and to chat with ya'll on Steam + Discord!   We're also mailing out FREE stickers for THE FIGHTING FOXES to say thanks (chat with Totally_Sarah on the Discord to give her your info)  Here are all the changes we've made to the game since we released it in JULY!

Bug Fixes:
  • Custom avatar choices now apply to the pitcher when controlled by the player.
  • The player no longer has to go get the ball when the catcher misses a catch while pitching.
  • The batter no longer runs back to home when the ball is thrown over the fence.
  • Fixed an issue with stadium crowd animations.
  • Fixed an issue that caused an out if a ball was caught after hitting the wall in the stadium.
  • Fixed an issue causing infielders and outfielders to run to bases instead of passing the ball to them.
  • AI runners will no longer run past a base then return for a tag out if a ball is being thrown to that base.
  • Fixed an issue with the running sound not playing in the stadium.
  • Fixed an issue with the ball counting as a strike and being hit by the bat at the same time.
  • Fixed an issue with balls counting as an out when landing in the outfield.

  • Avatars wearing masks will no longer wear hats or helmets.
  • Improved judgment of what is considered a foul vs a fair ball.
  • Improved AI base defending logic.
  • Reduced the frequency at which the AI is able to get triple plays.
  • Reduced the infielders’ catch radius.
  • The AI will no longer throw to first base while the player is running to second base.
  • Improved short stop logic to cover second base and act as a cutoff man for left field when warranted.
  • Improved second baseman logic to cover second base and act as a cutoff man for the right field when warranted.
  • Improved AI base running logic to always run when the batter hits a ball and there are already two outs.
  • If a ball is hit and goes outside the yellow line, all runners will now stay on their base until it is determined if the ball is fair or not.
  • Runners now will run partway on a fly ball, then determine if they should continue running forward or run back depending on if the ball is caught or hits the ground.
  • Polished the AI runners’ tagging up logic.
