The Monster Breeder News

Inheritance

The inheritance algorithm, which is responsible for the inheritance of the internal and external characteristics of monsters, has been reworked. The player can cross different species within a given class. This requires Crossbreed Potion, which can be prepared by the alchemist or purchased.
If no such potion is available, the player can still crossbreed related species and can also cause random mutations using the Brew of Alteration. In the EA release, only monsters of the same class can be bred.

Carnivora class is done!

This class is the most adaptable of all. Their temperature tolerance is excellent, so they are not at a disadvantage in the sub-zero Ice Dome arena, where insectoids are slower and reptiles are weaker due to the cold. An additional strength of this class is their excellent endurance and high energy, which allows them to prevail in prolonged battles.

The Spiny Rat defends itself with spiny skin, while the Hellhound defends itself with fire skin, which inflicts damage to monsters that attack them. Carnivoras can claw, which is a faster attack than biting and therefore harder to defend against. Wolves can attack surrounded enemies simultaneously, while panthers can use their sprint ability to get out of difficult situations with lightning speed. The Snow Bear can attack multiple hexes with its ice breath ability. The Hyena is a powerful defender, if a friendly character on an adjacent hex cannot perform a counterattack, the Hyena will instead.

Three new arenas

Hey Folks,

Three new arenas have been completed, so now all four are available for the early access release.
Spiders' Hall
The Spiders' Hall is located in the southern tropical swamps. Insectoid monsters are in their element here, with a 15% agility bonus. All combatants fighting here receive 50% poison weakness, so teams specializing in weapon poisons have an advantage over others. In addition to pitfalls, Poison Circles emit toxic clouds that cause extra poison weakness.
Ice Dome
Located in high mountain conditions, this arena is the most northerly of all. Because the temperature is constantly below freezing, all fighting characters gain 50% frost weakness and 50% fire resistance. Insectoid and reptile class monsters do not like this climate. Insectoids lose 30% of their speed, while reptiles are 30% weaker in this arena. Carnivora class monsters do not suffer from the cold due to their excellent temperature tolerance. In addition to pitfalls, Ice Circles cause extra frost weakness.
Caldera
This arena is built into the crater of a volcano, the constant heat causes all characters fighting here to gain 50% fire weakness and 50% ice resistance. The high temperature is beneficial for reptile class monsters, which receive a 15% strength bonus. Pitfalls make it more difficult to fight and Lava Circles can cause additional fire weakness.

New reptiles

Hey Folks,

I have created new 3D models and animations for the reptile class monsters. The new models are more varied, allowing for more monster creation in the game. Reptiles are the strongest creatures of all, although they lose their strength in cold environments.

Some species defend themselves with spiny skin, others have electrically charged skin that causes shock damage to the attacker. Some reptiles can attack several enemies at once with a swipe of their long, spiny tails.

New Demo for Steam Next Fest

Hi Folks,

I have created a new demo for the Steam Next Fest, which will be available until the end of June. This demo shows the basic game mechanics and is not limited to combat like the previous demos.

In this new demo, you can breed monsters, set up magic treatments, hire and train warriors, upgrade your base and buy equipment. Since I ran out of time alchemy and forging are not included, so weapons, armor and potions can now only be bought, not crafted.

I have reworked the insectoid class monsters, so these improved creatures have been included in the demo. Since I'm reworking the reptile class monsters now, they can't be in it, nor can the carnivora class creatures.

I've improved the UI for combat so that it better shows the status of characters such as fatigue, health, fear, and poison. Of the four arenas of the early access, only one has been completed yet, so all tournaments take place in that arena.

There is help in the demo that shows basic info and game mechanics.

Enjoy the demo!

If you like it, please wishlist the game. Any feedback is appreciated.
